The 2025 Tour de France came alive on Stage 12 as Tadej Pogacar delivered an outrageous solo win on Hautacam. Jonas Vingegaard battled valiantly up the final climb but must overturn three and a half minutes if he wants to get his hands on a third yellow jersey. It was a sobering day for Remco Evenepoel, who was twice dropped, and Ben Healy, who blew up spectacularly and lost the yellow jersey.

Right, today’s stage was everything we expected it to be without the time gaps. It started really on colder solo and let’s have a look at that because what happened was Valisabach decided to take things up right from the bottom and set a very hard tempo but something unexpected happened and that was these two here Simon Yates and Matteo Jorgensson going out the back. It was Yates that waited for Jorgensson the rider here. I don’t know why they quite waited. maybe to keep him in the time, maybe to keep him up there. But if you’re having a bad day, you’re this early on and you’ve already committed to your plan to make things hard. They went completely against it. Slowed things down. And as you can see, Septus on the front of the Pelaton, looking back, waiting for him. Ultimately, what Visma did here was go against everything they’ve done so far. They wanted to make the race hard. They wanted to make it aggressive. But when they lost that strength in numbers, they went back to it and just set a tempo that was comfortable enough, but I don’t think hard enough for Tad Pagatcha. Later on in the stage, we came to the final climb of the day, the hotcom. And this is where Vizma ultimately just had nothing left in him. Only really Yonas Vingo was left in this group. And this is the pull of Tim Wellins. Soon as he got on the climb, they just started to ride hard, aggressive. Wellins was in the brake earlier on in the day. So as soon as they got onto this climb, they opened up the glass, they put the foot down, and Wellins just started dropping riders left, right, and center. at Sepkus going out the back that which left Yonasfingo all on his own. The last attack of the day was this attack and let me just say the man on the front Jonathan he’s been up there in bunch sprints before. So the turner speed from him is unbelievable at this point here. Adam Yates looks like he’s coming past him but he f just accelerated to get Tad Pagatcha onto the wheel and then that was the go time. Off we go. Big acceleration and this here would have probably been about 800 watts 900 watts for around 15 20 seconds. And so for Yonas already, he’s riding like Pagachu was already attacking with a turn that Nias was doing. So pulling him right up to that red zone. And when Taday went, it was already like he’d started attacking beforehand. So when Nias eventually pulls off, that was it already. The gap was open and Tad, he didn’t even get out the saddle in this effort. Comes around this corner. The speed was high already. The gap at the start looked like it was manageable for him. But after that, after that 10 seconds went to 15, 20, there was only one man that could finish it off. But it was Tad Pagatcha and he did in a fine fashion. 2 minutes 10 seconds to Yonas finger go. The time’s been taken already. Can he take more time? Will he blow up? We’ll get all these questions later on in the race. But that was a demonstration from the world champion today. Unbelievable.

Unglaublich!
POGI IS THE BEST EVER HIS FORM THIS YEAR IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL…
I could bet how many seconds tomorrow
Nice analysis Jolyon Palmer!
This Tdf is over.
Banished indeed. Now time for some Ventoux and Loze exorcism. 😂
Tadej wins the TDF by 7minutes
This is going to be boring, from here on out. Let’s hope for a good race for the Green Jersey.
"Thank you for your participation in this year's Tour de France. You may commence fighting for second and third place, as well as the other jerseys. Well, I might want polkadots, but that's secondary." -Pog
incredible, great analysis from Adam. And no he will not blow up, he's in control.
Pog dedicating the stage brought a painfull tear to my eyes as I listened to the stage. Quality chap, many of the peloton seem to have real integrity too.
Adam Blythe is insufferable
Best doper won 🤡💯
Pog couldn’t rise both hands in the end.
This was really his payback to Visma attacking and pushing him in last 11 day.
Jorgensen was eliminated from top GC competition, so now Pog can care only of Jonas which is more managable.
Battle for 2nd and third very open. Lipowitz in there as well as Vauquelin! Hats off to Remco for coming back.
They were trying to keep Jorgensen close to Pog's time so that they could use him to attack Pog and tire him out for Jonas' attacks. Now that Matteo is 12 minutes behind, they have lost this tactic for the rest of the tour and Jonas must beat Pog himself. That does not look very likely. He might not even get second after yesterday.
Once I saw Wellens was in the break but wasn't going for the mountain points or stage win, it was obvious he was there as a satellite rider. UAE played it perfectly and Narvaez did a crazy pull to launch Tadej.
Why was that women yesterday not seen? 😂
