oh how does this work where should i go? goodmorning everyone welcome back to the channel
welcome back to a new adventure here from Bulgaria i have to say it right i keep on confusing
Hungaria and Bulgaria so I had a good night of sleep here in this little cabin which I think
was quite a nice finding after the deception in the last video of the Wild Camp ehm ja I truly
was a little bit disappointed but I still think it was the right decision so I’m happy with it and
today we gonna ride to the southwest of Bulgaria oi and today we are camping but just on the
camping i think that’s just the best choice for now. i’m a strong believer that it will come at the
right time so see so I trust on that and for now we’re gonna focus on today and I also think I owe
you the route because I believe we left in Brasov so after the transfagarasan from where I
went to Bucharest south and then I did the border crossing at with Bulgaria which was quite
crowded to say at last ehm from where I ended up here and now we are going to the southwest
to a lake where we will camp from where we will head east towards Turkey and in Turkey we
are gonna do the first border crossing as in a real checkpoint so I’m kind of uh curious how
that will go but first things first Bulgaria and I believe we have to conquer quite a nice
road first with a lot of hairpins so that’s always nice to start the day with we are on a
really nice curvy road i enjoy it on this early morning it’s not too hot and I think we gonna have
a nice view in a moment oh you see this is super handy you see this signs a lot here in Bulgaria
and that means you can get water somewhere i’m not sure where -oh well definitely not there- ah
here right this must be a water point yes perfect i think they do that quite well providing
fresh water to anyone oh it’s not a lot at all at least I can fill it up a little bit
right a little bit is better than nothing alright I think we’re good for now might be half a liter I got out now which is fine because I almost ran out it is also quite chilly up here so we
must be really well really really high i shouldn’t exagerate but we are
definitely gaining some attitude altitude! not attitude…haha it’s like a monument or so, you see it? on top of there. With a Bulgarian flag oh there are more monuments here. woaa with a big bulgarian flag
waving I think I should go in here look Look at that! I have to say Bulgaria has like these
green hills i must say a lot of the Balkan countries actually i’m really surprised
by it how green the Balkan is i didn’t know so I quickly had to look at what this is i was
just a little bit curious and it’s the Shipka monument which is a monument that stands for
the Bulgarian volunteers and Russian soldiers that died at eh defense with the Ottoman rain
at this pass where are my keys ehm where Oh ah sometimes my head oké no panic
no panic where was I yeah so it’s a monument to eh that stands for those
people that died during the defense oi and it’s right on top of this pass which I
have to say it’s quite a nice very easy also it’s a fun one alri so now we will go down
again keeps mesmerizing the amount of layers the mountains offer here in the Balkan it’s
really something special it’s not necessarily really high mountains well at least I don’t
feel like they’re really high there we go continuing to our destination alright the roads sometimes here aren’t
always good but it’s a little practice right for the offroading i have to say on surfaces
like this it is a little bit easier than when there is like loose sand or like this
ehm gravel I got in Romania I suddenly had to encounter that was quite hard
but this is quite good actually eh wait but where is the road oh there oké well
this was rather a special route Calimoto gave me oh well and suddenly we are out of
the greenery it’s actually quite eh a lot of grass yellow grass must be some
kind of in between piece of land or so oeh i think I meant these mountains oh look
at all the sunflowers dat is so cool alright so we are now heading to the stay and
tonight again we are going to camp eh on what I have to believe from the images a very
nice camping eh right next to the lake wow and this lake it’s an artificial
lake because of the dam of Batak so it’s not a natural lake but
it’s still really nice located already it should be here yes here it is eh can I help you yeah I sent an email for a place you have a reservation i think
so oké you can follow me ja oké alright Alright well I have to say this is quite a view huh i mean this is quite nice is Good morning everyone here in Bulgaria where
I found this gem of a camping i have to say I think this is the best camping spot I got
so far with this view especially when I woke up that was just uh breathtaking right and also
the vibe on this camping the people it’s really really nice i enjoyed it i also had a good night
of sleep which also is quite nice oi what a view so all of that was good the only
thing I find here in the Balkan countries are there are a lot of
dogs during the night and they hawl, so.. do I have everything yes right alright oh there you go alrighty i’ll put a link of the camping
in the description because this is a place that everyone should know about because truly it really was nice and good people also
around here good people the owner yesterday he made me a nice meal with fish and it’s just a nice
guy and he is also quite into the biker community so we had a chat this morning and he’s gonna try
and hook me up to someone who knows a garage in Tiblisi because in the end that will be the
place where I probably will change tires so it’s also a really good connection for the
future so eh yeah we probably gonna keep in touch and for today we are gonna head
east so close to the border with Turkey so I can prepare myself i will have a rest day
before to get everything settled for that border control so it’s going to be quite a ride today. Hopefully gonna visit a nice
place let’s see how that will turn out A dam it looks like an old dam from stone is it? yeah wow oh look at that dens forest also hè it’s beautiful oh you can camp
there also can imagine i was also at an artificial lake of
course this night look at that that’s really nice surrounding here lots
of lakes dance forest pretty sure you can do lots of activities here also like kayaking
or mountain biking or so I also see a lot of fishing if you like fishing this
is probably the area to go look at the road how curved
it is that’s just perfect so I had to put my jacket on because
even though the sun is out we are in the mountains so it still became a
little bit chilly, this is more comfortable and I have to say we’re passing through some
really nice mountains and very very curvy roads i did not know Bulgaria was such a good motorcycle
country but it really is and I think the roads are also good i think 85% is like this so really
good and the other 15% is just one big pot hole and then you really have to focus but
look it’s Oh it’s nice huh and we are going deeper into the mountains because
there is a monastery located and it’s if I’m not mistaken the second
largest monastery of Bulgaria and apparently it’s very well maintained and
it must look gorgeous so I’m quite curious and apparently the monastery is also
famous because of it’s frescoes, not sure if I pronounce it ok but yeah
I thought it would be nice to check that out Bachkovo Monastery that’s
where we are heading to oh wauw o, that is a very small funfare alright where oh how does this work where should I go oi oké so apparently I had
to buy a ticket which I did in my best cyrilic i can speak i managed to get a parking
ticket well I’m quite proud of myself oi en at least I can go up to the monastery
with my bike because I have to say the downside of traveling alone with this amount of luggage
sometimes it’s a little bit hard to leave it behind to say like this I don’t wan to leave
it behind eh but also as an example I would have loved to go to the city of Plovdiv but it
was on my way i had to park the bike somewhere and that’s just not possible
with all my stuff so yeah eh the closer I can get with my bike then I can at least have a look if I can leave it
behind and otherwise I can at least see the monastery from the outside which is already more than seeing
nothing at all i’m happy that I could buy a ticket now let’s see where I can park ah
hier oh wow perfect look look nice hè eh somewhere in the shade would be lovely let me try to turn around en then try it again oi oi here yes much better alright oi it’s suddenly also
quite hot so I’m gonna get rid of my jacket again and uh have a look at the monastery so I
had a little walk around in the monastery which I have to say is really nice and the monastery
is found in 1083 so the 11th century and it was originally a Georgian religious center
but now it’s more into orthodox tradition and also this monastery has survived quite a few
things amongst them the Ottoman rain there they are again but in this case the monastery actually
flourished from it so it became better and I have to say it really looked nice also like all the
details there is a lot of I’m not sure if it’s real gold but there’s a lot of gold and then the
architecture it’s a Byzantine Georgian Bulgarian style if I’m not mistaken which I think it looks
really traditional and as you already know I’m a sucker for that and what I found specifically very
special was the cathedral of the Virgin Mary that was quite impressive just because of everything
that was in there which was a lot so that was just quite mesmerizing i found that very special
but the cathedral was actually built in the 17th century so a lot later than the original monastery
and then there are still eh monks living eh males it’s a male monastery a brotherhood right I have
to say they are still living here and the monastery is also open for pelgrims ehm so you can book
a stay here if you want and I think that is a special experience if you would do that i’m quite
happy and also the monasy is very nice located i mean have a look in the middle of the mountains
ja that was quite a nice visit I have to say very very well maintained ja ja i have to say I was just very happy
that I could park my bike eh where should I go can I go in here is that normal i
guess so i see another car going there well this is rather special route oh wow
look at all the goods that are being sold wau alright what was I saying that was just really
happy that I could park my bike so close to the monastery it stills a little bit inside in
this case men could look out on my stuff and in case you wonder I have some locks with
me so I do lock a few bags including my helmet i lock it to my handle bar it has a code so
that’s how I try to solve it i’m not sure how other travelers do this but I do think I found
the best way possible and still being able to see things like this because I don’t wan to miss
it it was just so nice i love the monastery yeah that was really cool so now we head for our
stay eh which is close to the border with Turkey eh I will have one free day there also to prepare
a little bit for Turkey because it’s gonna give another dimension to the trip i need to arrange
the sim to be able to stay connected also of course the border crossing i have to figure a
few things out before I do the border crossing so we gonna go to our stay and it’s gonna be a
hotel i think for the first time I always try to either camp or book an airB&B but this time the
hotel was cheaper than the B&B so but I actually prefer B&B because first mostly it’s cheaper
than hotels and you get way more space eh for your money and it gives me the possibility to cook
for myself so I can at least get my veggies but in this case again the hotel is cheaper I took
it that’s where we heading to right now wow so we have arrived in town Hastova that’s
where we are where I book my hotel i think that is the best starting point to go towards
the Turkish border there it is verical Hotel I believe it was that I booked vertical vertical
hotel that’s what I eh let me see should go here oké perfect alrighty let’s check out the reception and
see how we gonna get everything to my room so this will be my room for the upcoming
two nights and here I ask for a trolly which they gave me but I’m actually a little
bit ashamed by the amount of stuff but yeah it helped a lot anyways I am happy with
the room for the upcoming eh two nights view over the city the bathroom which is
also nice so that was Bulgaria already pretty fast and I have to say I’m quite surprised
by what it has to offer to motorcycles i didn’t know it was a really fun country to ride through
with your bike because I think the roads are very curvy through a very nice environment and that
combination yeah I really enjoyed it so that was great and then also the camping from last night
what a gem it was i really enjoyed waking up there i think the view was mesmerizing so I’m still
very happy that I chose that spot for now I’m in the hotel where I’m gna prepare for the border
crossing with Turkey and in the meantime if you like this video make sure to like and subscribe
i see you at the next adventure

  1. Nice episode once again. Bulgaria looks like a serene country with abundance of nature, hills and mountains. Stay safe, ride and enjoy!

  2. You just crossed the Shipka pass. A terrible battle happened there in 1877, as they held the shipka pass waiting for the siege of Pleven to finish, and be relieved by the Russian and Romanian and Bulgarian volunteers.

  3. Watching your video is like a therapy for me, so much love the greenery and beautiful capture of nature along your journey that makes me feel so calm.

  4. Really enjoying watching your trip and great filming. A tip from a fellow Caballero 500 owner. When starting from cold, don't touch your throttle, just push the button until it starts. Then wait 30 seconds or so for the revs to drop before riding off. Hope this helps.

  5. What a fantastic episode 😊 love to see how you capture the fun, joy and calmness of riding a bike. I should get one myself. Probably tomorrow. Or today.

  6. Hi Michelle, I was really enjoy watching this episode. The campaign place was beautiful. Nice trip to the border of Turkeye too. Can't wait for your next video.. Have a good rest and safe journey too.. 👍😊

  7. The big Icons @21:35 were made by my family friends. Plus the Icon over the main entrance/gate of the monastery. The also have Icons in Georgia, Republic of North Macedonia, Russia too 🙂

  8. Lovely video as usual. That monastery looked incredible. The Fantic, before I start off I let the bike tickover when. Old just for a minute, maybe that might help with that single cylinder?

  9. I really enjoyed this video. The journey and visuals were captivating. What I felt was missing, though, was more of a connection with the people along the way. It would be great to see moments where you engage with locals and learn about their culture. That human element would add depth and give a more complete picture of the places you’re exploring. Take care, Michelle!

  10. Hey je maakt leuke video's met goede info, love it . Vraagje wat is het bakje dat je aan je hydration backpak hebt hangen ? ben steeds benieuwd naar je volgende video grtjs

  11. Hope you like my country. I enjoy your video a lot. Indeed is a very nice country for riding. There are some nice roads near the monastery, going close to the border with Turkey and Greece passing another dam ( really really huge). It will be my pleasure to ride along and show you around if you decide to come again (there are a lot more things to discover around here ). Be safe !! I wish you nice roads ahead!
