In 2018 I bought a prebuilt fixie that I’ve since used as my daily commuter. After having an exploded rear rim and a very worn drivetrain I decided it was time for a full renovation.
Renovating cost me more than what I paid for the bike in 2018, but at least I have a custom paintjob now and can do all repairs myself with the tools I bought.
Was a lot of fun figuring out what component specifications to look out for to make sure everything was compatible.
For now I’m keeping both brakes for my own safety. Maybe I’ll lose one when I learn to skid with straps that I still have to add (although a 48/16 will be detrimental for the rear tire).
I will probably swap out the flat bars for drop down ones in the future.
