Hi everyone! I know I’m coming in here as a noob, but I recently wanted to get into cycling so I purchased a started bike from bikes direct. (I’ve heard mixed reviews but overall good)

I’ve never had to assemble a bike but I assumed it would be pretty straightforward (I was wrong 😭) I’m trying to get the handlebars attached to the frame but it seems to not fit, I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if it’s the actual bike. I’d appreciate any advice or I have to reach out the where I bought the bike, I know I’m a noob at this!

Unscrew the quill stem screw “A” to get the wedge “D” loose according to the following picture :

Insert the stem and the handlebar like you where previously trying to do at the desired height (carefull, there is a minium insertion mark engraved on the quill)

    Turn clockwise the “A” screw

The real question is why did you choose to get a build your own bike. like I’ll understand if you want to know the ins and outs of what to do in case of breaks but it’s just a headache. I’m not trying to make fun of you or anything I’m just confused so sorry.
