So, here we are at Squires. You might be thinking, why is it so dead? I’ll show you some footage. This was uh a couple of minutes ago. All lads and lasses, sorry. Going out for the uh ride of honor today. That’s a nice paint job of the bike. Good lads. So, yeah, that was the uh all the lads and lasses going out for the ride of honor today. Really wish I was going with them, but uh yeah, I decided not to today. I wanted to ride for myself today. and I want to get the channel back in good order for you guys. But hey, welcome back to my channel. My name’s Matt. This is working two wheels and let me shut me lid. My bike is in good health and I am in good spirits. I’m in bloody good spirits actually. will join me on a boiling hot day. Though it is a little bit overcast at the moment, but it is said to be in the 30° today. Uh I don’t know what to do with that kind of heat. If it’s anything like yesterday, it’s going to be scorching. Uh bloody hell. So yeah, today we are heading north. Hopefully going to be getting some good scenery. Uh, and we are continuing our little medieval rides today. So, today we are going, see if I can say this right, to Ravo Abby, which apparently means Ry Valley Abby. Roll the music. [Music] [Applause] right? So, as you can see, the weather has broken for us. There’s nothing but blue skies ahead of us now, which makes me very, very happy. The temperature has jumped, and I mean jumped. I am so glad I have got this hoodie. I know I keep saying that in the last few videos, but it’s been so warm this summer so far. But I have seen in the ride out and I’ve seen it on the waiter squires and just around and about at least 10 or 12 bikers out there in shorts and shirts. A couple of them pulling wheelies. I’m sorry guys, you dicks. You are dicks. How do you justify that to your family? Honestly. But hey, that’s my little rant over with. just put on some bloody gear. But lovely blue skies and flat ground in front of us and a really nice destination to go to. I have been to this uh this abbey before and it is absolutely absolutely breathtaking and to say how big the place is. I do I I even before we get there, I can recommend you right now. I can recommend that you take your family there for a day out cuz it is beautiful. And take your camera with you. Let’s let this lad pass. There you go. No worries, mate. Let me pass. Bless him. Have to do that. Yeah. Take your check your family. Take a camera, take a picnic. But you don’t even have to take a picnic. There’s a nice little cafe there. Cafe restaurant there. But hey, I’m reviewing the place before we’ve even got there. Let’s uh let’s get a bit further down the road, shall we? I can say that the roads around this part of Yorkshire are absolutely absolutely brilliant. You get some really good riding down here. Just coming into Sutton. Sutton on the forest. And a look around you. I mean, Victorian rose gardens, cottages, stable houses. Bloody hell. And medieval churches. That’s all that this part of the country is. God, my legs. I’ve been on the night shifts and my legs are burning. Look at that church there. That’s a stunner. So, this is something on the forest. It’s been a while since I’ve been here. And that in front of me right now is very, very final destination. I am the wrong generation of person to be riding behind this. But look at these houses. I mean, the houses are probably older, but it takes you straight back to the war, you know, like that. If you watch a carrier drama of the Second World War, this is what you imagine. Or Dad’s Army, if you’re into comedies. If you’ve never watched Dad’s Army, for God’s sake, I can remember I can remember being brought up on that. Dad’s Army is a must. Oh, no. We’re not turning left. Damn it. Turning left with the combine harvester. I don’t mind. There’s worse places to ride slow. This to your left here, you can see that. Now, for the people who don’t live in England, those are what we call honesty boxes. And those are where the local farmers or people with small holdings uh grow produce or uh collect eggs from chickens and they’ll stick them out on the honesty boxes and you walk up to them, stick a quid in, grab yourself some eggs or some potatoes or something. And the uh the people that run the honesty boxes are just literally hoping that you’re honest and not nicking the money or not nicking the produce without paying which generally out here they are honest. It’s when you get to cities and council estates that’s when a little Yeah. A beautiful part of England. There’s another one right there. Kindling kindling 1 pound50 a bag. Suppose it’s just an extra little little bit of income, isn’t it? This has been an amazing ride so far. I’m so glad to be back out on the bike. Whilst my back brake was broken and it was in the shed, I swear to God, I was like a bear with a saw. I was quiet, moody. could be asked getting anything done. Really is directly linked to your mental health as it is as your bike. There cows over there having a rest now. Who is not tempted by that? I mean, come on. If I had duck low enough, I think I could fit as well. Oh, the demons in the head are speaking. Look at that. You got scenery like this, weather like we’ve got. Why would you not want to be a biker? Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat up [Music] here. [Music] Heat up here. [Music] We are just entering the small town of Chillington and we’re not that far away from Helms. About 12 miles away from Helms, I think it said there. If you want to check out another video of mine, that’s the one to check out. That was a nice little video that [Music] If you listen very carefully, there’s someone over there cutting the grass. I can hear some sheep over there. I can hear the birds in the trees. And that’s it. What a beautiful cliff. I want to live here. Beautiful. [Music] Heat up here. [Music] Okay. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat Heat [Music] up here. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat up here. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat up here. Heat up [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat up here. So this is pull pulling away from Revo Abbey and uh we should be going the other way But the look of that road. Let’s have a ride through valley. Trying to explain to people that are not from England that this is an English road. It is two ways, not one way. It is a two-way road and it is 60 mph. That is amazing. I don’t think the camera’s going to pick up how steep this is. And it’s getting steeper. Well, what can you say about Rivero Abby? Let’s start with the basics. Uh, if you’re a member of English Heritage, you get free parking. If you’ve been a member for more than a year, I believe I think you get a discount in the shop. Uh, there are toilets on site. There is ample parking and it’s free parking. Remember, if you are a member, be a member. Uh, and even if you’re not a member, I do believe it’s only it’s not expensive parking. It’s not, it doesn’t cost the world. Uh, the place itself, beautiful, beautiful. Especially on a day like this, beautiful. Uh, the ride to it or the drive to it, whichever you’re doing. I mean, look around. You cannot find a bad thing to look at you. Absolutely stunning place. I mean that that’s an Anglo-Saxon church in the background. The hell places like this don’t exist. But yeah, you need to get yourselves down here, guys. Bring the family. Bring a picnic and get yourself sat in that Abby. Bring a camera. You’re going to you’re going to not regret it. You not regret it. Right. So, yeah. All the best, guys. I wish you well. I’ll see you in the next episode, wherever that may take me. Bye for now. [Music]

  1. I do like places that are silent now a days. As i too am moving to " leave me the phuck alone " country next year. As far as the abbey place, all i wanted to do is sit somewhere and smoke a pipe and wonder. 😊
