So I'm looking to get into freestyle bmx and I've been looking around at some bikes, this one is in my price range and i think it looks good, but I would like some more opinions on whether it is worth my money and is a good beginner bike. My main concerns are will it last me a while (few years of riding to and from university and skatepark once every 2 weeks), can i attach pegs to it later, what type of pump will I need?

Saw someone say rider size matters, I'm ~145 lb, 5'8"

While *any bike is okay – if you really want to ride BMX, you will find way better value in a used BMX from a real BMX company. I would spend the same money on a scrappy-looking *real* BMX ! 😀👍🔥

  2. Full stop no. High tensile steel is not good. At 145 lbs, you’ll bend that thing in a month at any skatepark, attempting anything even remotely serious. You have to watch out for the frame material. 4130 chromoly is your best bet. Three piece or two piece sealed cranks. Sealed 1 1/8th head set. Preferably 25/9 gear ratio.

And sence your 5′ 8″ youll want something 20.75 to 21 top tube length. As far as other measurements and geometry. Worry about that later when you’ve went threw a couple frames and find what you like. Then after that go to Lairdframe.com and design your own custom frame. From 4130 to aircraft grade 9 titanium.
