morning all well we was all ready well we wasn’t ready as you can see but we was um getting ready to leave um yeah we decided we’ll stop another night um there’s no reason to go home at the moment well apart from I should work but never mind that’s um different story um yeah the wind um today although it’s not that bad it will would be blowing against me going home and tomorrow it looks as if it will swing round a bit and be more behind me um plus it’s meant to be a sunny day tomorrow and being a Sunday um the road should be a bit uh quieter so yeah so it looks like we’re here for a another day um I will head off um today on the bike somewhere i I need to go to the shops to the So I might go um either in the village or I might cycle um further a field to uh one of the supermarkets i’ll see i mean I can’t do anything yet there’s Well reception won’t be open so we can’t go and pay for a another night but yeah that’s my plan for today um actually it’ll be good um to do um some cycling um just to see how good or bad what bad my hip leg is now I’ve um increased um some of my tablets right I shall get on i’m going to have a another cup of coffee and well I shall speak to you all soon look right well we’re heading out now up I was planning or hoping to meet up with my mate um Malcolm who lives on the island um I met him on the St marlo Ferry 2015 I think it was and well we’ve remained in touch ever since anyway um yeah um unfortunately he’s got um bronchitis so he’s not too good and up for meeting but well he is 94 which I suppose he would be you forget how time flies but yeah I mean for 94 he’s doing pretty well so hopefully I’ll get to meet him the next time we’re over here oh blime me oh and my uh my cousin from Australia’s in Southampton at the moment as well she’s um I don’t know been on some cruise and well I think she’s in um Southampton for a few hours um unfortunately by the time I get over there and got on the ferry and all that i think she’d have to be getting back on the Hello you lot on the um uh her ship i was going to say ferry but she’s on a cruise ship yeah so maybe next time Ch because I think she’s back in port next week and well next week usually is the um was the annual aisle of white um cycle ride but again it’s not on this year though but we’re heading off to uh Godzill first i thought we’d go there before going uh to a supermarket um I can see how my hip/ leg is um we’re going the um old cycle route way or part of it again it’ll make a nice change from going on the main road it’s well it’s rather overcast today but I think from tomorrow there’s meant to be a bit of a heat wave coming in so my daughter’s just um told me or well maybe not coming in but I know it’s getting warmer tomorrow and I think it I don’t know later in the week is meant to get pretty warm turn you around that wind oh come on what’s going on do you think yes hopefully the wind will be more favorable tomorrow i mean it’s not it’s not blowing an absolute hulie but there’s definitely a wind against me well we’ll have it behind us going back to camp maybe we should head up um St katherine’s Point which is Oh it’s way over there in the distance that is a hard climb in actual fact I think the last time I’d done it i don’t know i might have done it in 2019 but going this way I think towards it i think it was 2018 was the last time we done that and it nearly killed me well it really did cuz I think that’s um just before I ended up in intensive care cuz I think like an idiot although I was in a lot of um pain I still decided to go that way and then went down to um Ventner as well down Zigzag Hill and well if you know the roads into Ventner they’re hard going yes I’m sure that was the last time we went there but well we’re definitely not going there today i just remembered what’s coming up shortly on this route it’s Oh it’s some shoot as they call them or steep hills to anybody else but for some reason they call them shoots it’s just come to me pie shoot i think if I Well I’ll be impressed if I do i’ve remembered that correctly i think it’s just around this corner yeah why do I think it’s P well shoot who knows maybe it isn’t around this corner no yeah we’re just approaching this what do I say pwell shoot if that’s what it is called of course oh there it is i can see it never mind oh dear here we are well let’s see if we can find a name right I’ll turn you off well actually it’s not doesn’t seem quite as bad as I remembered well I was nearly right on the name it’s Pile Shoot p Y L E i think it was a million miles away when I said P well was it i remember why I go um the main road instead of um this cycle route um at least on the cycle route there’s only uh one bad hill and that’s the one coming out of Shorewell on this you got this hill um one by the garlic farm which everybody used to call garlic hill might be some more can’t remember turn you off I’ve just had a thought’s hill there’s a clue hill I’ve only just thought of that oh dear Yeah oh well heyi ho we’re heading there now there you go reach Godzill wow right let’s head Oh into um God’s Hill we missed that oh we missed that cottage behind us never mind i say I think the time we’ve been here before we come up the main road a tea rooms go for tea ah yes of course there’s a model village down there that’s right i remember that now I don’t know why we’re going this way you want to go the other way just see some people from the campsite in the model village i think they might have been from the campsite as well actually right well that’s it that’s God’s hill done right i think I might go on the um cycle route [Applause] um and head for Shanklin sort of that way and go to that um uh there’s a Tesco Express there I think might have to stop and just have a little look well we’re actually nearer Newport than I um thought we were so I think we’re just going to head to um Newport and go to a shop there yes I know where I am now we’re at um Bohemian Corner yes of course that road to the left which is closed off as it was the other end um goes up to the checkers the pub the traditional halfway stop on the white ride yes so we’re going to turn right here look at that we’ll turn right here and get on the um cycle route we could have continued up the main road there but we’ll hit the cycle route it’s fine i don’t know why I’m rushing to be honest it’s only midday well we not got to be at the campsite for anything there we go there’s the cycle route path trail whatever you should call it oh Muren Station I think this probably was yeah oh yeah that’s the trouble it’s bound to be busy today it’s only a short way anyway pretty trees smell fragrant as well look I think the sun’s starting to come out oh finally look out finally hi is he after some land speed oh I reckon he is after oh Lord how strange we passed a few cyclists which reminds me next weekend oh oh hello you just take a picture of that i’ve seen that one before i’ll talk to you in a minute um yes what was I saying yes oh next um weekend um it’s the round the island um bike ride which is always on i bet you’re really blurry cuz I don’t have a lot of um weight on the bike apart from old fatty air sitting on it but when my pas are on it I mean we really rattle around a bit yes it’s around the island uh cycle ride which is um always held apparently um on the um first bank holiday in May same as the annual boat ride of ours i got blurred vision for God on here i Oh we nearly at the end we got our supplies i think we’re just going to head uh back to the campsite and along the main road uh same one as we did the other day when we came it’s really getting warm now i think we’re going to have to take Blime Me look we’ve only got a t-shirt and our windproof jacket on i know we have to take that off before we start going up Shawwell sun’s out that temperature’s really jumped well as I said earlier I think there’s meant to be a bit of a weather heat wave but a hot spell coming in i mean guarantee I won’t see any now um this verge on the left I’ve seen loads of little bunnies sitting on the outside of their burrows um baby ones as I say not going to see any now typical perhaps I should leave some stuff here i won’t have to carry it all up again tomorrow everything I’ve got I’m going to use cuz I’m not leaving my beer up here ah we just stopped to put our phone away and we of course come up to say hello hey you’re lovely aren’t you you You’re interested but what about your other two they don’t seem bothered right got to go to that campsite i’ll probably see you in the morning when we come past just pop into Bryson to the shop before we head back hi to the campsite now get something for lunch we never got anything when we was in um Newport cuz well I knew we didn’t have much room so we can get something here and I don’t know carry it on the handlebars or in the bar bag oh people practicing pants that’s practicing for next weekend i think they might have gone the wrong way ah and we’re back have we got neighbors actually quite surprised how quiet it is i was expecting it to be a bit busier but then maybe it’s the weekend after Easter everybody who was going away did last week that’s it home sweet home [Music]
