This is the cube bike of Binium Gummaray who of course won three stages and the green jersey at last year’s tour to France. A stunning looking machine I’ve got to say, but there’s a few things specifically that I’m going to point out to you. Humongous looking stem. Uh it’s apparently a 140, but in the truck they’ve actually got bikes with 160s on. I believe that’s for Yonas Rich. Uh looking at the tires specifically though, they are provided by Hutchinson. They’re called the Blackbird Race. They’ve been using them most of the season, but they’ve only just released them to the public. They’re made with a very special super soft compound to reduce the rolling resistance, but it does mean that these tires can only be used for around about 1,000 km. So, a lot of changes to the tires for the team mechanics. They’ve got a spreadsheet where they put in what equipment each rider is using for each race, so they know exactly when to change them. Uh they’re 30 mm and paired with these very wide rims from Neon.

  1. CUBE still the most boring bike out there, both frame design and paint job๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ (obviously im riding a CUBE myself…)

  2. Historically Hutchinson has made the absolute worst mainstream tyres in existence. I suspect these are the first ones to get close to the GP5000, except they last 5+x less as long.

  3. the wheels seems cheap and not high end. Where is the frame made ? Taiwan ? China ? Not enough high end. Make it in Germany then maybe it will be considered as high end.
