  1. Front derailleurs don’t typically “ware out” I don’t think your chainring is worn out either.

You just need to adjust your front derailleur, possibly including bending it.

Is the new chain the same outer width as the old? If you increase cable tension will it shift (and still drop the chain into the small chainring as well)?

If you just changed the chain and it shifted ok before, then it’s not a worn-out FD that’s the problem although it might be contributing to the problem.

    >I dont see how that could affect the shifting but maybe?

Shift aids.. ramps/pins will play a role, but if it worked before the chain swap…

  3. Front derailleurs are worn when they develop play that messes with their geometry.

  4. Maybe it’s the camera perspective, but your inner cage plate looks bent.

But it should still be able to shift the chain to the big ring. You just have to adjust the derailleur, which may involve one or more of the following:

    1. Angle that cage is mounted. Maybe swing it outward a couple degrees.

    2. Higher cable tension. Use barrel adjuster.

    3. H-limit screw adjustment if you need cage to go further out, but the H-screw prevents this.
