Here's an old Ross Mt. Hood (anyone know what year?) I cleaned up recently. It was in great shape but just caked in grease and grime. I opted to keep the OG dork disc on since it was in such good condition and fit with the overall chrome aesthetic. This bike has such a great geometry for bikepacking and graveling. I spent more time than I care to admit on polishing the chrome, but it was worth it.

What a beauty
1984 maybe
That dork disc looks sweet
83-85 ish? I found a 1983 Mt. Whitney at my local bike coop and it was very similar, but in _much_ rougher shape. Exact same components, including the sweet Nippon Bullmoose.
So gorgeous!
Spoke protector was a fine choice.
If dork discs were still made like that I’d probably keep them on too.
That fork is gorgeous! And honestly makes me realize how unsightly I find unicrown forks 😵💫
For 80’s bikes, Schwinn and Ross always excite me. I’m from New Zealand where these brands didn’t exist, our local brands were mostly dogshit. I actually find a Ross more pleasing to look at than a Ritchey or Fisher in many cases, they don’t give off that same “cutting edge” vibe, I guess I’m conservative when it comes to bikes. I like a genuinely vintage look, and I don’t shy away from the cheap stuff.
