So we have arrived in Paris. From Switzerland we took the train in the morning and it took about four hours and arrived at the station near our hotel. We came here and after we checked in to the hotel . Then after doing the check in we had to have lunch and then we had to do laundry all the clothes that we have worn for the last seven days in Switzerland and there is a laundry place in walkable distance. We saw that there We saw that there is a place for laundry within five minutes distance So we put all the dirty clothes in a bag and went there and gave for washing. We found many cafes nearby for lunch and we had lunch from one of them After lunch we collected all the cloths from Laundry place and started back to hotel. While coming back we saw on fruit shop with so many berries and other fruits which we don’t normally see in our country. So when we saw strawberries, they were very fresh and beautiful. We asked them how they were. They said that they are very sweet but not fully sweet. They are a little sour same as in our country, but it has a little more flavor. Hence it’s very good. I like it very much. Then we bought blackberries. It’s my first time to eat blackberries. Few are lil sour and few are sweet but it’s okay, so we liked the taste and we ‘re thinking that we should go to some place today. Planning to visit rest if the places in the coming days. Will show todays visuals if we go out. Then we decided to go out by the time it was evening. Today we are going to see the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral here. Another thing we noticed when we came to Paris is this crowd here. When we were in Switzerland, almost all the roads were deserted, except for seeing one or two tourists or local people, we had never experienced such a crowd in Switzerland. Like the tourist attractions in Paris, pick-pocketing and scams are another thing that is famous here. That’s why we were very careful. We were using our phones only when it is really required. We were keeping our wallets in our inner pockets and we were very cautious. so when we walked a little we reached the cathedral This cathedral is dedicated to Virgin Mary or Mother of Jesus This was built in the 12th century In 17th century many part of the cathedral was destroyed during french revolution. The restoration project and cleaning took place in 19 century and after that we all saw in the news that during 2019 there was a big fire and many parts of it were destroyed. After all that, it was opened to the public again a few months ago in December 2020. What you are seeing now is the line to get into this cathedral. The entry to the cathedral is free for public As it has not been opened recently and It has been closed for a long time. So there was a lot of crowd. The line starts from too far. When we reach the cathedral entrance, we see this separation with barricades. This cathedral is one of the most visited places in Paris. Finally, we reached the entrance and there were some security checks and other things. After that, they let us in. When we got there, the evening service was going on That’s why we could only stand in the outer section. It’s a really a very big cathedral, so those who are sitting on the back side can’t see anything that’s going on. So they were showing it live on the screens here. Going to the seating section was not allowed This was restricted using barricades. There was an option to see from side. We entered and walked along the left side to the back side of the altar To exit from other side so that the service will not be disturbed. We could see the sculptures of the 11th and 12th century and also windows with coloured glass on the way. After we came out from cathedral we were walking to see Louvre Museum. So we started walking in the direction of that. while walking we could see the River Seine. It is the most famous river here , this river is touching many parts of the city of Paris. Similarly, many historical bridges can be seen on this river. The green boxes that we see are actually shops. It was only after a while that we realized that there were books, paintings, and many other things were sold here. By the time we got there, it was a very light evening, so most of the shops were closed, only some shops were open , so we realized that these are actually shops that sell books, paintings,as well as vintage cards On reaching near Louvre location we could understand that we are reaching backside of museum and cannot enter from there. Also it was reaching closing time. Then we decided to skip the Louvre There was no plan to go inside the museum anyway. We were planning to go and see the glass structure outside. So it will be a time waste to go around the place this far for that. That’s why we skipped it. After that, we decided to go boating in the Seine river . As said, this river almost goes through many parts of Paris city, so we can see a lot of things on this river ride We saw a boat that was already boarding people it would start in a short time. So we started to walk there. Need to take ticket and board the boat. We saw many people doing the boat rides while walking. Could see many boats were having weekend parties as well. Finally we could there before the boat started and they said that the ride would start in five to ten minutes. They were making announcements inside the boat. The boat was going below many bridges. Then they were telling us the importance of each bridge. The only thing was that we were waiting to see was Eiffel Tower. The main reason for choosing Paris was to visit Eiffel Tower. So were anxiously waiting to witness the Eiffel tower We were told that this ride has two experiences when we go during sunlight and when we go after dark, that is, when we go after night, we saw that it will be a different experience with lights on all the buildings. Finally we started to see the top of Eiffel tower in a disctance. We were so excited to see that. Not only we were very excited to see it, but everyone else in the boat was also very excited. This is our first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower after coming to Paris. We went back to our room after the ride. We took these snaps on the way. The road was very beautiful. The next morning we went to see the very famous Versailles Palace. I have heard about this palace before but I realized that it is such a big palace when we came here. We can really know when we walk into this palace that the former French monarch was so rich.. During the 16th century, Louis Xlll had built a hunting lodge in this place called Versailles. It was Louis XlV who turned the hunting lodge into such a large palace. It was almost in the 17th century that most of its work was completed. Later, during the French Revolution, the Royal Family returned to Paris . After that, the palace was in an almost abandoned state. Monarchy is said to have been demolished after revolution and after that a big auction was held and many of the things from here were sold so we walked and reached its entrance and there were some security check and so on and then we entered after scanning the tickets. This was the best palace of all the palaces we have visited so far. Audio recording was available inside the palace. There was a Number written on each place. , and if we press the same number on the device we could listen to the details about that place or that particular sculpture as well as its importance. In the beginning we were going by listening about all the places but it was taking some time because it is a very big palace and we had the option to see all their public rooms as well as private rooms inside the Palace. Most of the things were open to public So it was taking some time. France had many artisans and hence there were so many Paintings, Sculptures and art works. Another amazing thing about the palace is that they have maintained it without any damage. So inside our ticket we had a tour of the palace as well as a tour of the outside gardens. We heard that the gardens up here are huge. So we needed to speed up a bit. After a while, we quickly started to move The private chambers of the old King and Queen , the chambers where their morning and evening ceremonies are held and then the public chambers that were used for public hearings and so on, everything is open to the public now. . When we passed through it, we really understood how rich its artwork was and also how powerful that French Monarchy was. After the palace indoor visit, we went to visit Palace Gardens and the extended estate. So it is said that there is about 2000 acres with all this. The garden was also beautiful to see. There were many fountains as well as some green spaces and after that, when you entered the estate, you could see some big trees and the road between them After going down to the garden from Palace, the garden is on both sides. If you go down the road on both sides, we could see two cafes. Everyone was having lunch there, so we decided to have lunch there too. After that we decided to visit the estate and many people were going by walk and few hired electric vehicle and another option was to hire bicycles. And we went the option of bicycles. I cannot pedal for longer time and hence I took electric cycle They three took normal bicycles. What you see now is the estate grounds. A lot of area was there and also a lake. Similarly, after going a little further, you can take turns to go inside. After you go there, it is really very neat like this, but it is a nice green area. When you go inside, there are some trees. Also saw a Horse Barn and also spotted few horse riders on the way. The entire area was so beautiful and wast. We went for some distance and then we came near to lake and we decided to go back and when we cycled we really knew how big an area it is. There are many ways to go here and there. There is a freedom to explore however we want. But since we have to return the cycle and go back to Paris, we started going back. We had to return the bicycles as well. While returning back we could not see Signs for directions. But we had an idea about the lake and if we follow that would eventually reach the garden, so we did a guesswork and started riding to the Garden side. After riding for sometime we reached the bicycle rental place. After returning cycle we need to start back to Paris. It would take around 1.5 hrs to Paris. and we have no other plan today as today we had planned to spend almost the entire day in this palace only. So we will meet again in our next video.
