I had this happen to a wheel took me forever to find out what the clicking noise was because it was so gradual. Glad it didn’t fail on me. Company claimed I over tightened the spokes and wouldn’t warranty it. I only ever had the shop that built it do it because they give free lifetime adjustments. I was not pleased went with a different rim.

So I JUST went through this last week. Niced a crack when I got to work. Gently road home (10km) and the crack was much worse by the end of the ride. Ordered a new wheel.
