Just got the Shimano S-Phyre in size 44 and while theyre are the same size as my old Giro they’re replacing i can’t shake the feeling that they should feel more snug for better power transmission around the crankset. Attached some pictures. Would it be worth ordering a size down and returning the worse fitting pair?

Are the BOAs cranked all the way in photo #3? If so, I would consider exchanging for a smaller size. I did the same thing with the xc903s I ordered. Measured my foot per their sizing and added a couple mm. Originally bought a 44, but retuned for a 43.5. Even the half size helped me.
Can’t see your foot. Remove the shoe and take another pic
