I would say the San Quentin is probably the best value, but may be over kill unless you plan on getting into trail riding or urban freestyle.
I’d rather go over built then under built. San Quentin is my vote
If you’re just riding on fairly smooth and flat bike paths then you won’t really benefit from a hardtail. A gravel bike would be just as smooth, and more comfortable on your hands on longer rides. If you have a desire to go out and try some mountain bike trails then that’s a different question.
