the first mountain stage. We haven’t had a category 1 climb or race. It’s been the longest time. Last year, we had the Galibier uh on stage four. On 23, we had Marie Blancc on stage five. both stages where there were big gaps. This finishes on the how to cam 13 1/2k 7 1/2% 120ks of flap beforehand meant a lot of riders wanted to get in the break whether that’s to beat an easier time limit whether that’s to try and win from the breakaway for K points and wow there was a huge split 50 men up the road Neils Polllet’s on the front for UAE Emirates setting a pace not letting it get out of control because you don’t know who’s in a breakaway when it’s a 50man deep breakaway Santiago Bitra’s in Harry Sweeny’s He’s realizing he’s not really got the right teammates in there. Wellins and Benot are in for UAV Vizma, but importantly, the man who really changes this stage is Carlos Rodriguez is in this break. He’s relevant on GC for the top 10. Inos are in there with five riders. I think Garant Thomas, Foss, Arisman, so UNOX and EF Education Easy Post don’t really like that very much. Johannes and Healey who’s in the yellow jersey at this moment were going for top 10. And Plet was pulling also to go for the stage. And there’s a bit of ong guard uh sword play action as well during the stage. Would Tari Pagatcha, speaking of wounds, how would he fare after his crash of yesterday? But going into the first climb of the stage, the salute 11k 7 and a half% Inos pull all out to give Rodriguez the maximum gap possible. And on the Salure, we see uh Benote and Sharkman dropping back early on. They can help Remco and Vingar behind. and Vizma pacing with Victor Camponauts from the bottom and that puts a lot of riders in difficulty not just opponents but also some Vizma riders in a second ahead. Axel Lauron’s paces before Aaron but the early pace in the first three ks of the Salure was putting Remco Even under pressure. He’d have to do the next 20 30ks solo. He gets dropped. Vanera was there to pace him back. Simon Yates is at the back of the group. Tanny Pagach is on the radio for a long time, but he’s got Narvi there. He’s got Adam Yates, Civikov’s dropped, but he also has Wellins up the road, don’t forget. And Tish Bernett’s caught from the breakaway. He starts to pace even harder. Aaronman’s in this neverending battle between the Pelaton chasing them on the Saloo. They got a gap of 141. And Wellins is still there in this group. So, he’s not getting caught before the summer. But notice here, Jorgensson pours a bottle of water over his head, over his head. 5ks or so to go into the climb. And so Vizma have a difficult decision to make. They’ve got Jorgensson going off the back, but also Ramco’s off the back. And Cus starts pacing and Navi starts to slide through the group. He’s about to drop. So Pagach is going to get reduced to just one teammate. But that also means Vingard’s going to get isolated. And there’s a lot of other GC contenders. And there’s Jorgensson and Simon Yates dangling off the back. So, Schelmoer and Woods attack in the front. Armorel goes across them. Eventually, Vizma stop and so the gap actually goes back out to the breakaway. Remco starts to close his minute gap as Simon Yates sets a more moderate tempo and Nar Vise is making it there as well. I can’t remember if no SE didn’t make it back. Armarel starts pacing that group. Wellins though climbing really well. He’s with that lessening in pace able to come back. Vocal was also struggling. So a lot of guys who are struggling on the Sul finish this stage actually pretty well. Vocal comes back. Woods on the descent. Him and Mosa not the best descenders. They get caught and passed by Bruno Armarel who does have the advantage of being on home roads in this region. We’ve got a 7 to 8 minute steep climb coming to cold de Border and there Vizma also set a tempo that again drops Matteo Jorgensson keeps Remco even a pull on about 25 seconds. So he’s not able to come back onto this climb. We got a 20k valley after this. So Adam Yates starts to set a pace for UA team Emirates. They’ve got Wellins ahead. He can do the valley. Armor rail. I mean if there wasn’t Wellins ahead, he probably still wouldn’t have had a chance. Wouldn’t have had a chance. But Wellins is ahead. So with a gap of 225 with Wellins here with Navi and Yates still relatively fresh for Pagatcha and with Pagatcha hungry for the stage win. It wasn’t looking good for the lone survivor of the breakaway Bruno Armal on that valley descent. Remco even Paul makes it back just in time uh because Wellins was starting to spark it. The gap went down 30 seconds as he was pulling in the valley and as they did in the doofen Wellins goes to the front followed by Navi and UAS just start launching it from the bottom for Pagatra. In fact, Yates is already kind of giving a gap to Navi. his lead out so explosive and he’s dropping the wheel. So he just basically does a death pull to bring Pagatcha back to Nava’s wheel. Navi sees Pagata’s on the wheel and just clicks up a gear and just starts absolutely sprinting. Livitz and Robich only in Johannes, they don’t respond. Vingard’s already kind of off the wheel and unlike on stage 10 when Pagatcha launches seated in the saddle. Vingard isn’t even trying to follow. Pagata sees he’s got the gap goes clicks up a gear, speeds away and with 11.8ks 8ks to go on the how to cam is Pagatcha ending the tour to France on the first mountain stage. It looked like Vingard was holding the gap stable. It was at about 7 seconds but then after a couple of kilometers maybe after Pagatcha himself recovered from the Narvis lead out. He starts to rip this gap open. It goes to 40 seconds 50 seconds. Finger was losing 10 seconds per kilometer and T Pagacha was going to be extending his GC lead big time in the world championships bands despite crashing at the end of yesterday’s stage. Libovitz and Rogich or mainly Livovitz tries to work over Onley and Johannes. Only starts to pace because he stops. He doesn’t want to get attacked over and over by the Red Bull Bora guys and then Livitz does counter him anyway. But Vingigard’s on 140. Livitz was 50 seconds behind him and he starts to close with 1k to go. I think it was about 30 35 seconds and the young German rider was storming back and going close to the white jersey. But today was all about Tatty Pagatcha looking out of breath for once at the top of the how to cam and sealing a big victory and a big blow in this year’s edition with Vingard losing over two minutes when he already lost a minute plus in the first TT. Big gaps as always in modern tour of to France cycling. Vingard on 210. Ludvitz only 13 seconds behind on 223. Then Johannes only on three minutes. Vocal apoll 335. Goal on 402 and Rodish on 408. Here’s what Picacha had to say after the race. I I almost already forgot about this. I was just uh looking forward for today and then all the people was all the time coming to me and saying, “Oh yeah, uh this is the the revenge time and blah blah blah.” And and then when we approached uh the bottom of the climb, it was just a reverse story of a of a few years ago. Uh one Belgium guy again on the front team and uh our team in the front. So yeah, it was really I’m I’m super happy to take uh to take time and uh and to win on this climb. Then in terms of GC, the gaps are even bigger. Vingard on 331 now, although he does move up two spots over Remco Aven on 445, Lipovitz Vocal only though that the white jersey battle is separated by less than 2 minutes. That’ll be a really exciting battle between Aanapole, Lipovitz Vocalan only. Hope you enjoy the video. I’ll see you the recoil of the TT tomorrow.

  1. Hmmm… Roglic should be riding for Lipowitz. Don’t know why Evenepoel is rated so highly for grand tours. Sure he won the Vuelta once without any stiff competition from the other big GC riders and since then? Hasn’t done much except win time trials (in GT competition). Remco is a great one day racer, but I don’t think he has what it takes for GTs. Vingegaard doesn’t have the excuse of a spring injury this year, and so wonder why he’s so far down on time. Was expecting closer time gaps. Maybe it’ll change. There’s still a lot more racing to go.

  2. If the UCI didn't turn a blond eye to doping, then this channel may not exist and we'd have very little, if anything, to talk about. So…dont hate the player, hate the game 😅

  3. The Visma team was clearly underperforming today. They actually started to isolate Pogacar but Campanaerts dropping Kuss, Yates and Jorgensen ! That's madness. That's what actually allowed the Narvaes leadout. Outcome would have been the same probably.

  4. Boooooooooring, at least the race for,the top step of the podium. More coverage on 2nd to 10th is required as that is where there is still much to be determined. 3 jerseys coming for TP with wide margins in all competitions, unless of course he gets bored with winning all of them. That won’t happen though as he is paid to win. 3 jersey cakewalk coming your way.

  5. Funny thing…they all are major “medical help” subjects. Poggie is one of the best user freaks and the best team to buy the best Ad—Chrome… and keeping it an open secret. Well done, UAE! Give everyone the same juice, and let's see who is great then.
