I once threw my back out from watching TV too hard for 5 hours. So I think you’re doing ok.

Well I think when you ride everyday your body gets used to it, when you ride in random five hour bursts your body is like “wtf are you doing to me?” Especially if you’re riding hard.

I’m 30, haven’t ridden since 26 when my bike was stolen. Broke my neck in two places 4/2023, 60 mph rear ending 8/2023 that blew out my lower back and my shoulders are shot for taking digs on my snowboard in my younger years.

I’m on the edge of receiving my ssdi and my settlement for the car accident, and have been thinking about building another bike since there’s a park up the street within riding distance and that’s like my childhood dream come true lol. I’m also hesitant to get a bike before just trying to hop on somebody else’s and messing around a bit to see how my body tolerates it.

  4. 44, and get sore if I don’t ride. Getting out of bed, long flights, and heavy traffic are the things that my legs hate most.

36, hopped back on a bike and was just trying to get some smooth bunny hops in over a 30 minutes ride with my family. My back calves and quads were so damn sore the next day

30 and my first rides back at 29 last summer and 30 this summer was 2 day sore in some areas. Made to get a good stretch whenever I go ride before and after and stay active cause if you take a break it’s gonna be repeat lol

    29 here i feel like a brick
    After 3 months barely riding

Prolly need mote exersice and some flexibilty thingies

    But i feel your struggle

  8. Same here. I run more often than I ride and after a brief riding session at the dirt park, my arms feel like I was curling dumbells all day. The spirit is willing, but the body is sore and bruised!

  9. 59 I ride for fun and distance and will end up with whole body light soreness the next day, but it feels kinda good at the same. If your muscles are sore without bruising or trauma that’s ok but if the pain is coming from your joints then that’s a problem

Itd be a good thing for your body to look up what muscles are used as well as feel whats sore and look up how to stretch off those muscles, it really helps me after i ride stretching off when i get home.

The less often I ride, the easier it is to get sore. I do find myself getting sore easier and for longer as I get older though (I’m 34). 5 hours of riding hard will probably get most of us a bit sore though.

At 30-32 I started stretching before and after. Helps a lot. I do when I snowboard too. Still sore if you bang something and my hands still ache, but not just from riding.

  13. I get so fucking sore nowadays man. It’s a great exercise, i used to be ripped as shit because of it.

  14. Tell_On_Your_Uncle on

I’m nearly 43. Just thinking about riding fucks my back up. I’m good for a few manuals around the local, then I’m set for a bit.

  15. Yes. I started stretching before and after rides and that went away. Stretch a lot. Like A LOT. The older you get stretch more. Also be sure you are hydrating. LOTS of water Lots and lots of stretching.

33 and definitely feel it more than i used too. I found that consistently doing squats and pushups everyday helps significantly since i can’t ride every day. Cuz random on and off sessions puts your body into wtf f u mode

  17. I’m 39. Soreness comes and goes. Best way to avoid it is to stretch everyday (even if you don’t plan on riding), ride consistently but not necessarily everyday, let yourself heal if you’re injured, and stay hydrated. The better your health and wellbeing overall, the better your body will handle riding.

  18. I get super sore from crashing bmx….but I’m way too old to be doing this crap…but I still do

Im 24yrs old work a very physical job and am in pretty good shape and a good session of bmx will make me sore as a whore on a Monday morning. It works different muscle groups that don’t get used unless you ride very consistently so yeah definitely normal.

  20. I’m 35 and ride around 1-2 hours per session, I get sore on the muscles that is involved with the trick I am learning. When I was learning barspins, my shoulders, back, arms, wrist and even my palms would get super sore.

Just my butt hurts, & I have a nice Cult corduroy seat, & looking back now I can’t believe we rode on the hard plastic dominator seats all day long every day 😂

  23. DennisFuckingNedry on

When i used to ride pretty much every day, I never had a problem.

Haven’t rode in a couple of years now, and I know my back and arms would be absolutely wrecked the following morning if I rode for just a few hours.

Really highlights how much of a full body workout you get from BMXing.
