So there is this path for cyclists and pedestrians in my town. it starts and then after 30 meters there is a sing "Cyklisto, sesedni z kola" which means "Cyclist dismount". It's really unnecessary since the access road to the industry area on the right is not used that much for this command sing to be necessary.
There is the same interruption with access road and command sing about 200 meters down he path. And there is also a bus stop and the cycling path starts only after the bus stop so you shoud either walk with the bike for a few meters of ride on the road and then you can go back on the path (legally speaking, since you can't ride a bike on a sidewalk in Czechia)
This interruptions really engorges cyclists to NOT use the path because you could theoretically be fined if you don't respect the sign. But if you are riding on the road you can go without interruptions.
Then there are people in my country who always bitch about cyclists not using designated paths. No wonder when it's almost everytime faster and easier to ride on a road since you don't have to give away every time the cycling path intercepts a road.
It's a shame because the path is lit at night and it's in industry area. Lot of the cars driving on this road are heavy trucks so it definitely fells safer to use the path. However it would be really annoying if you behaved by the law on this path.
There is a lot of this bad and useless infrastructure everywhere I go. I hope it gets better in future.

It might be more effective to discuss this with your municipal council instead of Reddit.

There’s sections like that here. My use of it is that if I see a pedestrian, I dismount and walk around them. If no one is present, I ride through – carefully. I’m willing to bet I can win that battle if I got a ticket.
Agreed. That’s ridiculous. They don’t think there is enough space for pedestrians and cyclists or what is the reason?

Generally when I see a “cyclists dismount” sign, it comes off as a big middle finger.
Cyclist dismount signs can get in the fucking bin. This is an apology for a bike path. Why couldn’t they just have put give way lines and a bike path over the road? What a bunch of twunts
A local cycling group in my area lobbied council and got all the cyclist dismount signs removed, as well as those staggered bollards at crossings that try to force you to stop.

So ignore it like every other sign that’s telling us what to do.
