So I went to take my saddle off my p-line yesterday and unscrewed it too far and the pentaclip came apart. I had no idea this is how it was made. Anyway, I think I managed to put it back together in the correct way but now my saddle has a bit of play in it even when tightened.

Any idea what I might have done wrong? Watched the videos so put the pentaclip back together correctly. I don’t ever remember this wiggle.

It was reassembled incorrectly. Should be an easy enough fix.

Brilliant Bikes probably has a good video you can use as a reference.

You’ve got your pentaclip assembled wrongly and or you’ve got some grease or contamination in it there should be absolutely no play when it’s done up to torque.

  3. Do you have a torque wrench? It needs to be tightened to a specific number to be tight enough but not overly done to cause damage.

Different lines might have different torque spec. Check yours specifically. It’s printed in the manual. There is a table for all torque specs of different parts. My c line needs 15 NM.

  4. UPDATE: I must have reassembled this darn thing a dozen times. Each time the same wiggle when installed and tightened. I’m honestly at a loss for what to try. All was fine until I removed the seat yesterday and the pentaclip went into pieces. Each time I reassemble it’s the same. Head scratcher.
