EDIT: Also, since it needed to be higher in the first thread… This is just their EU sector.

It would seem they set up a separate LLC to operate in the US and business is as normal (as normal as it can be) in the states.

But obviously there has to be some financial tie in so buyer beware.

If buying in the US I would consider not pre-ordering, only buying IN STOCK (aka ready to ship) or better yet visit a Mill if you’re nearby and try to set up buying a bike hand to hand that day.

Anyone know where I can get the EP 801 batteries for the Decoy? They’re sold out on YT’s website. I’m going to buy several to make sure I can keep riding this bike for many more years. Absolute best bike I’ve ever ridden – words can’t explain how much fun I have riding it.

  3. They treated so many customers horribly. This is what happens when you don’t stand behind your product and commitments.

  4. As soon as I heard private equity in his statement I knew it would be bad

Restructuring and they well be good. No doubts

  5. Probably should be noted that, as of today, this seems to primarily affect the EU branch. The US branch is saying it’s business as usual. They’re structured to be largely independent, but of course there’s some entanglement….we’ll have to see what the ultimate long term effect is going to be.

Seth from Seth’s bike hacks had an interesting video about this recently

Here’s the thing, now that geometry is pretty much dialed in for riding types, xc, trail, downhill, etc

People really don’t need to buy bikes every 2 to 3 years. A good, well sorted bike will last at least 5 years. The only thing they’ll really be selling going forward is parts.

You can only sell so many bikes to a guy like me, I have a great, modern geo xc and trail bike.

Now its all marketing BS, about colors, stupid tech that doesn’t improve my life and costs a fortune, something that shaves a few grams off here and there…

Once the relevant customer base is saturated with modern geo bikes, it may be many years before they replace them.

There are of course new customers growing up and into the market, but are there enough to purchase all these new bikes being pumped out year after year?

  7. They have a store/showroom in Bentonville that is maybe a year old and I’m sure rent isn’t cheap. Wonder if it’ll last?
