Not uncommon to see older rim brake road bikes around this price, but you’re not likely to do much better for the money either. If your goal is fitness/recreational riding, longer distances on paved roads, then this could be a good option to get started. Do check the sizing is appropriate for you though, road bikes are quite sensitive to having the right size and setup.

It’s an old Sora triple drivetrain. Maybe a 2008. It looks very original as far as the parts. It’s hard to say much about the condition with just one photo not showing the driveside. But it looks out from here. Size? maybe a 56cm I think. Good for somebody around 5’11” – 6’2″.
It might need some maintenance just based on the age, especially if the tires are original. But the price is fair. Point out some small stuff like the messed up bar tape and get it for $200. Check the brand of the tires, if they are specialized as if they are original, if they are they are too old. Tires will cost $100 easy. It’s still a good deal. The bike was around $780-800 new. I think it’s a 2008, you can look it up by browsing through old catalogs on the specialized website if you care.
