Looking to upgrade from my intro bike that I use for local rides, tours, and triathlons. I normally place in my age group and want a bike that can enhance my performance as well as a bike that I won’t be needing to replace anytime soon.

Certainly more reasonable than the Venge. Still rim brake obviously, so not super future proof. Price is okay to somewhat high for an Allez IMO, these bikes hold their value notoriously well.
Two things:
– The Venge you posted was a 58, this is a 56. That’s not a trivial difference, you should be sure of what size you need.
– Are you only looking at Specialized bikes or was this a coinicidence? Specialized is a low value brand especially in the US used market. Giant, Merida or Canyon offer better value
Meh not to me tbh. If you’re ok with an alu bike at this price point i think you could find something disc brake for similar money albeit with alu wheels. However wheels are easily upgraded and having a future proof disc thru axle frame is much preferred imo. Look at different brands where you get more bang for your buck like giant ive seen disc tcrs for that money.
