This is the farthest I’ve gotten the cog to go in the wheel. The lock nut goes on like normal but this won’t screw in please help.

That is usually caused by damaged threads. Do not try to force it with tools. Take it off, examine closely and if there is damage get someone who knows what they are doing to fix it.
