wanted to get input on a bicycle i’ve been eyeing. mind you this would be my first bike. last week i went into a bike shop and i rode a brand new 2025 trek domane al2 and instantly fell in love with the look and feel…and then i found out the price. so i’ve been trying to find an alternative or a used one. i’ve found this one on offerup but not sure if it’s a good pick or good price. its set at $500. everyone says start with a used bike then upgrade or should i drop the ball and pay 1.4k and consider it an investment. any suggestions or recommendations are appreciated thank you

If you can swing it the new one is such a great bike that you can upgrade with better components as you progress. You also have a lifetime warranty on the frame which you don’t get on the used ones.
Do you know the specs on that bike? The group set can drive the price as the quality of the drive train is whether it’s Dura Ace/Ultegra/105/Tiagra/Sora. I’ve listed this top tier to low tier. It this is ultegra or 105, it’s a good bike, but $500 might be a little high. It try $400.
