After about 3100 km, it was time to replace the stock Pirellis on my Strada. I liked the look of the retro models on Bicycle Rolling Resistance (everyone's favorite site!) and pulled the trigger, even as I also liked the black-and-blue color-blocking the bike had going on.

Curious for this posse's opinion, cycling aesthetes* that we are… Now I'm not so sure, since the tires are less white than they looked online, and maybe because they're 32s instead of 28s, the sidewalls are quite prominent. Not a big deal, just going to roll with it, like literally, but IDK, WDYT?

(*It's funny, I used to not get why people posted their bikes to this sub, but now that I'm in the inquirer's saddle, it makes sense, this being a group with proper taste.)

  1. I almost always vote beige/gumwall but on this bike I think black sidewalls is the only option!!

why aren’t there more 3t strada’s out in the wild? i say that as an exploro racemax owner. i love the look but i’ve never seen a strada irl and wondering what the limitations are, etc.

  3. Tan wall tires will always be the pick for me. I just love how they look. The only time I’d consider all black would be if I got all white rims which likely won’t happen
