90s GT Tequesta – Brake Question

PFA – I’m rebuilding a 1990 GT Tequesta. The front brakes are cantilever, the rear are u brakes. Planning to replace both – new set of cantis for the front and new set of u brakes on the rear.

Question – is my assumption correct that I can use cantilever brake levers for both? That’s my assumption, but the bike didn’t come with the old levers so not positive. I assume pull ratio is the same between u brakes and cantis seeing that they came stock on the same bike.
