again at just a few days later. It was two wins in four days at that tour six years ago. He since won another grand tour in wonderful style and today he could be the man to put that final sting into the stage for the swarm. That gap’s opening up as well now. You can see just the distance between him and Aaron. Aaron head down in that start healey 18 seconds down on Simon Yates at the front. So he’s what 4 minutes 58 seconds from that yellow at the minute. That’s how it looks there. Healey at 17 store more than half a minute down 1.8ks to go. It’s a brute of a short climb this. Yes, it’s a real difficult one. Uh after what they’ve been over today already um the end of uh you know a very difficult week of racing. It is uh you know just a fight to get to the line here. You just have to keep fighting all the way. And we can see uh you know the man out in front, Adam Yates. He is sorry, Simon Yates. He’s going to just keep you looking at his numbers. It all depends uh you know how he’s feeling, but normally he should be the one able to hold uh the other man off uh who was chasing him there. Um yeah, it’s all about now who’s got the most energy left to get to the line here. And when you see the gaps there, they look tiny, but to close on a steep climb like this, it’s so difficult to close that couple of what 60 70 m. It’s 55 57 seconds at the minute of a buffer for this man Ben Healey. And look at how deep he is digging. The problems might arise here behind if this group sees the Bastil Day fireworks fly off in the massive SAL. It’s been a huge stage in France’s central mountainous region and for Vizma Lisa Bike as they take on the final climb. Are they going to take a sort of double victory? Can Vingor put time into Patcha? Can Simon Yates finish off the job and win in the area where they last took a tour stage win through Bingigore last season. Look at Victor Kapernat goes again. Goes again. He’s had that pleasure of having a little bit of recovery. So 2 3 4 minutes onto this climb. Whatever he can do, he will do it at his maximum. Try and Jorgensson. The interesting one. Will Jorgensson go on the attack or will he set a hard temper. Will he try to see a crack in Tad Pagatcha [Applause] tried again on Yates? And the fight isn’t done yet for the Dutchman. 1 kilometer to go now on the stage. Simon Yates doesn’t quite have it in the bag yet, Sean. No, he doesn’t. We can see there Arnman has recovered a bit and seems to be closing down. It looked like it was a bit bigger earlier on, but again we can see Simon Yates having a look around there and you know depend on how he’s feeling as well. If he is you know riding a little bit conservatively well then you know he can just hold them off here in this final 850 m and you know back in the main pelaton there they are charging into the hill and it’s going to be an interesting one. Wing go has to try something here. He will make Jorgensson maybe set a really strong pace then trade the attack and see can he see some difficulty see some cracks in pocket. It goes uphill all the way to the line. It’s 8% now and Ardisman looks like he’s on the pedals and he might just be closing. It’s 4 seconds as Healey leaves behind Okconor. Healey himself is fighting to the death here to try and take the yellow jersey. Now this is Carlos Rodriguez at the front. Yes. Well, this is a question. Why is he on the front? We’ve seen him a number of times. Maybe not uh looking that good, but he seemed to be confident here and start setting the pace. Some riders, you know, they don’t want these attacks in the air path. They want to get a rhythm onto the climb. And if if you start, you know, setting the pace, busting the pace, let’s call it, then you get into the climb, you get into your rhythm and maybe he feels a bit better. But yeah, I I don’t think this is the best tactic for Carlos Rodriguez. You would say just for the wheels, you know, get the maximum out of the risers in front of you and try and limit your losses. The finish will be the case. This is Simon Yates out of the pedals pushing on and about to secure the first stage win of the race for Visma Lisa Bike this year. They’ve also landed the odd psychological blow today in the war of the teams as we see behind at the same time. Yates rides away. Jorgensson has another dig. He’s the man now at the front and things are moving. Vingora is on the wheel behind. You can see Rogich is still there. Keep your eyes on who’s going to attack as well. Now then, now then. Now then. No reaction from Togachan. If Nepal attacks on will go. And now who goes? Will the big teams look at each other? Well, one of the big teams is about to take victory. It’s going to be a first Grand Tour stage win in three years for Simon Yates. Just a month and a bit after he came back and won the GC in fantastic fairy tale fashion at the Gino Ditalia. A look behind Simon Yates has a third tour to France stage. A first in six years this Misa bike are off and running at this tour and they’re about to cause chaos in the GC behind as well. It’s a brilliant second place for Inosaders Tim and Ardensman. It’s the first time there in the race and now if Nepal has been caught to do the catching leap of it looked like he had a go as well there and how cool was Poga there he just sat back let Remco Evan pull only a number of riders just right off there but did I see who finished 30 seconds with Healey across the line and crucially four bonus seconds for the Irishman who’s looking to take the yellow jersey off today for Gacha a reminder it’s 3 minutes 55 seconds minus the bonuses. So 351 352 to be sure plus the 30 seconds as Leapovich has a go. And this is going to be very tasty. Patcha himself now. They’ve been jabbing jabbing. But in the end the big punch comes from the man who won the thing last year. Patcha is flying but he can’t crucially yet fly away from Yonas Vingor who’s the only man who’s even in the ballpark. Another acceleration. He’s out the saddle. A bit of a gap. And now Vingora is struggling. They tried to take it to him all day, but in the end, Paul Gacha was racing. And now he tries to pounce. Yes. Well, what an attack there. We could see Ving go the only one was able to react. The rest just looked and said, “I’m not going to be able to follow that. I’ve just get into my own train here.” And we can see Ving go looking good with the wheel there. never lost anything of that big big attack from Pog Champ. Oh, Kevin Vulcan struggling. Start of the day in third place. He’ll be further down. Wonder who’s going to be first. It looked as though for a while it will be Ben Healey. It might still be, but he’s going to have to count, watch, and hope and pray that these two look at each other. Yes. And we can see they are doing that. And we can see V being go he’s not moving at all. And you know if you are really comfortable the thing you would normally do after Pogcha putting that big effort you know 20 foot one in over the top but if you haven’t got it then you’re not can you cannot do it. Lenny Martinez starts to ride and they sit on his wheel behind by the way he’s the man that both Pogach and Vigor are gaining time on at the minute and they’re coming up to the final kilometer. Remember 352 + 30 is exactly what Ben Healey needs. He’ll be beyond the finish line hoping that there’s some sort of slowdown. There’s still 800 meters to go. Paul Gachad in yellow. It’s looking good for the white jersey perhaps at least for Ben Healey. Valand at 52 seconds from Paul Gachad here. Neapool losing 17 crucially and it’s Martinez as the time ticks past three minutes who made that dig who couldn’t distance Ving behind. It’s all on now Reco. He’s the one who has to ride and this is the man who nervously has a few moments of clock watching to do. Yes. Well, uh it is going to be a nervous times looking at the riders there on the big screen and you know see what’s happening out on the road and you know it’s going to be a tight one and yeah when you see the attack of Pogle car immediately like that takes a lot of time if there’ll be another one that will be the problem for Ben Healey as he goes through the 500 meters to go. 4 minutes 22 seconds is the time you need to see up on your screen if Ben Healey is to go into the yellow jersey. It’s currently 3:45 and ticking on. It’s Martinez who’s riding here. 370 meters to the line. One by one, those who fought hard in the break come across. What a story for Joe Blackmore watching with five months of age on Adu and now riding in a breakaway at the tour to France. Vinor on the wheel of Paul Gacha who’s tried. Both are going to gain today on Nepal. Yes. And I think Pogchar is not know concerned about the race leader Jabar. He’s going to sit here and wave as it looks like he is going to go in to yellow. The time ticks on 426 and counting. A fourth Irishman goes into the yellow jersey in the history of the tour to France. It’s a first Irish mayor Jean in 40 long years. From Steven Roach to Ben Healey, the Emerald Isle turns yellow as Tan Paula relinquishes the race lead. Ben Healey goes into the first rest at the tour in front in the tour of France.

  3. 🇮🇪🇮🇪C’MOOOONNNNN HEALYS ON FIRE 🔥 🇮🇪🇮🇪(btw Healy carried the boys in the last 30 k’s he did all the work today)

  4. Campaenerts and Yates both great signings this year. Never expected Healey to be in Yellow but he might have that a couple of days. That's a team that may fight to keep the jersey. Some good riders in there

  5. Very emotional watching Ben today. What a legend. Worked so hard. Pulled them all round for the last 30k. Deserved the win but yellow will have to do. 😂😂

  6. so happy for ben healy and the EF team, what an effort by team to get him up there, and what an achievement for him to bring it home!!!!!

  7. amazing breakaway effort today. fun to see Healy in yellow. Pog had it under control though for sure. i am, however, worried about team UAE for the hardcore mountain stages without Almeida.

  8. Although podgar is always for this tour leading Vine over the finish line I have a feeling he's sandbaging a bit, this is a mental & physical race…
I just watch everything and the ease podgar and Vine go away from the rest and today podgar saw that he's not dropping Vine…seen it on a couple of stages and everytime podgar tried pressuring Vine he was right on his wheel the whole time…
HEALY, FROM WEE EMERALD IRELAND AND ONLY THE 4TH IRISH MAN TO WEAR THE YELLOW JERSEY….I DON'T KNOW IF YOU WANTED THE YELLOW OR THE TOUGH STAGE TODAY BUT YELLOW IS PRETTY GOOD PLAN B…
IRELAND IS PROUD OF WHAT YOU HAVE DONE ALREADY AND HOPE AND PRAY THAT YOU WITH YOUR TEAM MANAGE TO HOLD THE YELLOW FOR A WEE WHILE..
    🙏🇮🇪🇮🇪🤝🇮🇪🇮🇪🙏
    🇮🇪HEALY🇮🇪

  9. Hatch is so keen on pronouncing every name as if by a native of that place, so why doesn’t he pronounce “Simon Yates” with a Mancunian accent?
