The seller had upgraded the rear and front derailleur, brakes, to shimano previously. I’m sort of new at this so I’m curious if $225 is a good deal.

As long as it’s the right size, yeah, good first road bikes.
I think it’s a great deal, I think any bike with STI shifters and descent shape is worth $225, this is a very quality bike with 105, if the cages, bag, bottle and pedals are included, I think you scored
As long as it doesn’t have significant issues needing repairs, fits your size, it’s a great deal
