Guy pulled out in front of me, brakes locked up and went over the handlebars. Tendon sheath injury and can’t move three fingers. Be safe everyone and remember how to brake properly!
Sorry for your crash, and I hope it heals quickly and fully!
PSA:
Practice doing emergency stops until it is instinctive. When doing an emergency stop, throw your weight back, with your butt moving behind the seat, pedals level, and arms braced (but not locked) against the handlebars. You want your weight as low and as far back as possible so that you don’t go over the bars. Watch some youtube videos on the topic for example technique.
Learn how hard you can hit the brakes before you skid, and get a sense of how to modulate the brakes to limit your skid on different surfaces and weather conditions. This shit can save your skin and bones, and maybe your life.
