    You can almost always make internal housing replacements easier by feeding a cable through it and using that to facilitate pulling the new piece of housing through the frame. And based on that being a ~2′ fairly straight shot, it looks pretty easy to do. Just don’t yank the housing out and expect the new one go in without some fishing.

  2. No. It looks like the housing goes all of the way down the tube. Even if there is a housing stop at the top of the downtube, you will have to run the inner cable through those small holes. Many manufacturers allow the plastic stops to be removed, and it creates a larger hole to feed through. In my mind, either way, it is a pain. Run an old cable through the housing in reverse, if that makes sense. If the housing stops at the DR, go to your lbs and get a long piece of the cable cover that used to be to cover bare outside of the frame cable. Again, feed in reverse. Either method provides a guide for the fresh cable or housing.
