“Glacier Road” in Western Norway, leading up to the Folgefonna ice cap 🧊

This small road winds its way up from the fjord (sea level) to a summer ski resort at ca. 1200m elevation. Spectacular snow walls after the road gets cleared in spring. However, the ice cap has been losing mass at an alarming rate and the short-term future or the ski resort is highly uncertain (no skiing this summer). Picture from May 2024. 📸
