Looking to purchase an E-bike for my Father. He is rehabilitating after heart surgery. Thought it would be a nice gift when he got home . I would love a good pedal assist system so he could accompany me on 1-2 hour workouts. I currently average 18-20 MPH and live in an area that has zero elevation around. His fitness level is very poor, especially after the surgery . Is it realistic to think that there is an E-bike that would bridge this gap until he slowly builds his fitness?

Sounds more like you should slow down rather him going to your Level tbh
Look at Specialized Turbo Vado SL, very light, good for fitness and beautiful motors. Doesn’t have a trigger though. Look at Velotric or Lectric for more affordable option.
