I’ve just bought this external router dropper post, and realize now that this cable mount part on the post is in the way of the seat post clamp. I have tried to loosen the cable mount on the post with an Alan key, but both imperial and metric keys don’t seem to fit the slot. Any suggestions? Also, moving the post up isn’t an option for me.

Two options:
1)Have the lever of the seatpost clamp go the other way (pointing backwards)
2)Rotate the seatpost clamp 180 such that the “knob” part is on the problem side.
I would go with option 2. A seatpost clamp is supposed to clamp somewhat uniformly so direction doesn’t really matter.
Or just get a non quick release clamp now that you have a dropper. There is no real need to have a qr clamp anymore.
Why can’t you turn the post 180 degrees and flip the saddle clamp? The bolt should be a 2mm or 2.5mm looking at it.
