did you know that Barcelona’s coastline is not just a place to lay on the beach but also made for biking whether you’re a local or a tourist you can easily rent a bike and cruise along the coastline feeling the breeze and soaking in the incredible views and you can literally ride right along the Mediterranean so in today’s video my buddy Brian and I are taking you on a ride to show you just how fun and easy it is to bike the beach in Barcelona and why it should be on your list of things to do on your next visit a big shout out to barceloneta bikes right off the coast and in the Barcelona neighborhood that’s been gracious enough to let us use some of their bikes to make this video you’ve got options for normal and electric bikes to get you around with hourly and daily rates depending on your [Music] plan all right let’s grab these bikes and hit the beach let’s do it [Music] you ready for this or what let’s get it all right [Music] so we’re getting out onto the boardwalk a little bit of a windier day but this is one of the best places you can go if you want to get up and down the coast ride those bikes and see a lot of Barcelona but this is this is your neighborhood this is your neck of the woods why don’t you tell me what what it’s like every day yeah so we are out here on the main boardwalk in laara and it’s a what is today today’s a Wednesday and there’s still a bunch of people out running biking skateboarding roller skating uh there’s always here so I think this is if you’re in Barcelona and you’re visiting this is one of the best places you can come to go for a bike ride or just go for a walk along the beach so we’re going to head over to the W and uh see what it’s like over there what I’ve always loved about the beaches and what most people don’t know when they come to Barcelona is that these beaches really didn’t exist before the 1992 Olympic Games the barceloneta and the coast would have been much more industrial and the city didn’t really have access to the beaches like it does today about 5 km of beach front were added to the city ahead of the games as part of the city’s transformation as we ride down the beach towards the W Hotel we’ll pass some of the more popular spots like the barceloneta San Miguel and San Sebastian beaches and after that as we head up the coast we’ll head closer to the Olympic port and make it to beaches like Nova Iaria Batel Mara and Nova Mara so one of the reasons I think that cycling is or biking around Barcelona is one of the best ways to see the city is with a bicycle you can get around four times quicker than if you were were walking and you expend five times less energy than if you were walking yeah and this over here is a place that I would never walk to yeah you ever walked down here not really I only bike and so you can see out to that cable car that leads you up to mon get a little bit of the idea of that Old Port the industrial Port down the way all the cruise ships really just see something else in the city if you get down here you also have that iconic image of the W Hotel the hotel V they call it looks like a sale one that is a little bit separate from the city but it’s that iconic image you see all over the place from the beach so from here you can see all the way up the coast even out of Barcelona we’re going to get all the way up we’re going to check out a little bit of some maybe some hidden spots get out to some of those little peers we’re going to go as far as we can go what’s the farthest you’ve been oh man I’ve been to France not going to make it that far [Music] all right so we’re about to cruise down one of my favorite strips in Barcelona uh the reason I like it so much is cuz you just have palm trees lining you all the way up until the uh The Two Towers the map for buildings and you can only really experience it if you’re on bicycle so definitely something to check out if you’re ever here in Barcelona [Music] oh oh [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right so we’re right below those towers that Brian mentioned earlier we’re in What’s called the port Olympic this was built for those Olympic Games 1992 but it’s all being revamped right now got some of the smaller boats and everything out here and if you ever want to catch a charter boat or have that private Sunset experience this is the place to come to [Music] you’ve got all sorts of cheating gitos restaurants and everything all around one of the best places if you want to get a nice paa right here on the beach [Music] esba so you can see the W all the way down in the distance here we’ve made it out to Mara which is a beach further up the coast that not as many people get over to and if you look over on the other side we’ve got the Forum which is basically the end of Barcelona the BOS river right there separates that between Barcelona and batalona now you’ve got all sorts of different options you can head into the popano neighborhood you can get into the center of the city or you can just recreate that beautiful bike ride that we just had get along the beach and get back over to Barcelona so if you liked this video with some plans of things to do in Barcelona you want to hang out with Brian and myself again watch this video next where we try out the best patatas bravas in all of the Barcelona [Music] [Applause]

I was there last year and fell in love with this city ❤ however, after the protests against (over)turism, my husband refuses to even consider it for our travels. He hasnt been there yet and already has a bad impression…it makes me real sad
I do that ride about once a week so fun!
I love Barcelona biking! I always rent a bike from the place next to Cuitadella Park!
I don't think I will have time to cycle when I am there in Nov, but I already have a list of things to do when I go back (just not sure when that will be)!
Absolutely love cycling and running up and down the beach in this city, feels special even after 10-20-30 times. 🫶from Gràcia
Thanks for coming out for a ride 🙌🏼
Thanks for the cool idea 🙂 About how long did that bike ride take you folks?
and you can park your bike, take a step off the boardwalk and, for those so inclined, go au naturale at San Sebastian beach, or after a few dozen steps, at Mar Bella beach – amazing to see this degree of tolerance for alternative lifestyles
A very good choice regarding the bike – at least if you are a little bit into german football 😊
On my way Oct. 21st. Can't wait!
Will be visiting the city in December. If the weather is ok, I’d like to try biking along the beach. Last time we visited, we walked it and were shattered 😊
Patrick – Looks great! Did not know about this and we are definitely going to try this out!
Hi again Patrick. We'll be in town later this week for a short visit, and I was wondering if there is a particularly good spot within the city confines to view autumn foliage? Thanks again 🙂
What a beautiful bromance lol 😂
One thing I wished I did when I visited in August! Did try but next time I'll go to that bike rental shop or a similar one. Also, nice Chicago hat (that's where I'm from)!
