My sram quick link just snapped while pedaling with some strength, I'm glad I didn't fall.

I'm a bit afraid now, should I replace the whole chain just in case? If so, which chain should I get?

Or just a new quick link is fine (Is it this one? https://www.sram.com/en/sram/models/cn-plck-d1 )?

Also, do my cassette and crankset look ok?

I removed my quick link two weeks ago and put the same one back in, it came off on the second ride, only one was left attached on the chain. Not really sure if it was my fault or not, but now I'm a bit paranoid lol

The bike is a 2019 Trek Slash 9.8. When I bought the bike last year it said:

"Changed at the beginning of the summer:
Chain, rear cassette (Sram GX), derailleur cable, both suspensions and dropper seat post were serviced, rear triangle bearings serviced, and more. Both Break pads are brand new."

Thanks!!

  1. Check the rest of the chain for damage. Bends, stiff links, etc. youre probs fine

thats to be expected on a used bike, just buy a new quick link, tho you should always have a spare quick link in your pack for when your chain snaps 10km away from the parking lot
