I can’t figure out how to install my new dropper post! It’s a brand x ascend 2 externally routed, but it seems they’ve changed the internals on the cable part since all the videos I can find were released, and it didn’t come with any instructions. Does anyone have experience with this dropper? Or can figure out how to install?

Whats confusing is that one end of the cable has a nub on, and the other is bare. As far as I’m aware the bare end should be at the lever, so the end with the nub on needs to go in the post bit. But I can’t figure out how!
Feed the bare end of the cable into the silver hooked piece so the nub falls into the hole. Install setscrew into silver hooked piece and snug it up. Feed spring onto cable and slide it all the way up to the silver hooked piece. Feed the bare end of the cable into the cable housing.
Manipulate silver hook to grab around barrel in seatpost, push spring up into black housing on seatpost. Install end of cable housing as shown in the diagram so the tab matches up with the slot on the seatpost.
