Hello everyone. I know there are some Therese’s about this topic already.

I have this formula freehub on my canondale topstone carbon 3 and it isn’t spelling anymore.
I removed the axel and I pulled heavily on it. Do I need to unscrew the hub from the other side ? Cause an allen key will not hold form the hub side. But im not sure if an Allen key will fit at all.

Or do I need to remove the bearing from the hub?

Thanks in advance

You can see flats for an Allen key in your first photo. It’s probably an 11mm, that’s the common size for freehubs. You’ll want to put the tool into a vise and use the wheel for leverage.

  2. It’s a large Allen wrench (11 or 12 mm) into the free hub from the brake side. You can see the wrench flats in one of your pictures (12 points). The bolt is right-hand thread and should be pretty darn tight.

  3. If I recall the tool should be used from the drive side on most Formula hubs. The fixing bolt tends to be kinda captive and comes out with the freehub body.

You can see where the tool goes in the first pic. Doesn’t look like the bearings would interfere at all. What size allen wrench did you try? I want to say they use a 12mm, but the actual tool size can vary.
