  1. Put the chain around it and see if it contacts the frame . Mine was like 1-2mm away from the chainstay at one point and didn’t cause any issues.

Doesn’t look like the stiffest frame or cranks. I’d be concerned about clearance.

You could put the chain ring on the other side of the tabs on the crank for a few mm extra.

  4. See if you can flex 💪🏻 the chainring against the frame with your hand. If it does or almost then you’re sure it will also happen under high load…

Personally I think it’s too tight. But the photo can also mislead the actual gap of clearance.

Nope. I have a mm maybe on my hardtail. It was rubbing and I took a punch and a hammer and put a little dent in it for it to barely make it by and I haven’t had a problem lol

Depends on the chain line. Any clearance is enough clearance but is the chain wheel in the optimum position for the chain to run straight in the highest gear?

  7. maybe put some PPF/insulation tape where the teeth overlap with the frame. get some rocks flung up there and they can chip away at the frame.

if it was a two-by and you shift into the big ring under load, the chain will absolutely eat away at the frame.
