I recently took a bike on a vacation to London and while I was there I decided to follow the downs overnighter bikepacking loop, as detailed on bikepacking.com. This is an epic 110-mile route through some stunning British coastal landscapes. This video documents part 1, part 2 to follow in a week!

So, you know how they say you’re supposed to stay up as late as possible when you fly to Europe to reset your circadian rhythm? Well, I think I stayed up too late cuz I flew to London the other day. Stayed up till 2:00 a.m. the night I arrived. And then yesterday woke up at 11:00 a.m. dead to the world and had a pretty rough morning. Stayed up till 2:00 a.m. again. And then today I woke up at 7 because I’m about to do a two-day bike packing loop. So, I’m pretty tired, but I just took the train from Clapam Junction, London to Guilford, which is where I am now. and I’m about to do the Downs Overnighter, a two night 110 mi bike packing loop. So, after arriving in Guilford, I found my favorite shop, Little and bought just a little bit of food. I’m going to get fish and chips tonight, so I don’t need to buy dinner. And then I started cycling out of town and spent forever looking for a bench, which I finally found. This is kind of a field of some sort. I don’t know what sport they would play here, but let’s just do a quick quick little bike check. So, I brought my Stew Rambler over. There it is. Actually, it’s one of the first times I’m really using this for more than just kind of cruising around town. So, there it is. It’s coming home in a way because this company is based in Oswestry in Shroptshire, England, but I bought it when I was in Michigan. Had it sent over there, built it up and now it’s back back in England at least. So, it’s a 1×12 basic Shimano drivetrain. It’s got the Richie Beacon XL wide bars, the bar and shifter friction shift for the 12-speed drivetrain, SLX mountain bike derailer, some DT Swiss rims, Shimano hubs, the Surirly Extraterrestrial tires, and not a lot of luggage here. Just a couple of the dry bag strapped to some Surirly anything cages. I think these bags are really a little too big for those cages, but have some extra long vo straps. I’ll make it work. Got the Salan Atomica X saddle. The rack is a tumble weed rack, I believe, and just a couple extra straps in case I don’t have enough room. And uh yeah, the main thing I’m worried about is not having enough water. I only have two small bottles there. But there actually was a free water bottle station here at this little park. So, that’s pretty cool. But, uh yeah, let’s go ahead and see what this bike packing route is all about. All righty. Here we go. First part of this is this paved path. And what’s really cool is I’ve got the route set up on my old Wahoo Element. So, I’ve never actually used that computer for navigation. I used uh an app called Ride with GPS and tried sending it. I didn’t know that I could even navigate with that old Wahoo, but it worked, which is really awesome. So, I’m just going to have to follow that and that’s going to make it really easy. No stopping to look at my phone all the time. And uh really happy with that computer as well cuz the battery lasts like a full day and also it’s really affordable. I just couldn’t justify the cost of a new GPS which are all in color and you know they cost like4 500 which is insane. But we are on a cycle a national cycle route here. This is route 22. I don’t think we follow this the whole way but a little symbol there. sort of typical English style, uh, pretty subtle and these kind of narrow paths that are pretty interrupted for the most part, but apparently this route is like 90% not on the road. So, this should be really cool. And it’s awesome that this is only maybe a 40-minute train ride from London. It’s not hard to get to if you’re already in England. All right, tiny little on-road section on the road up there. We even had a little hike a bike where there were some steps, but then we came underneath and saw this beautiful path, the National Trust Riverway Navigations Railway Line Walk. It’s a rail to trail and I think we’re in here for about 30 mi. Looks like it’s still cycle route 22. All right, guys. I’m taking a little break here. I’ve done about 14 miles and it’s taken just under two hours. I’m averaging about 7 miles an hour and I just always seem to average really low speeds on these trips lately. Uh, but that’s okay. I have tons of time. It’s only about 12:15. I’m just taking a little break here. Mainly because it started raining. I don’t know if you can hear this in the background. Um, it’s not really supposed to rain very much. And hopefully it doesn’t get muddy or anything because as you can see over here, I don’t have fenders on the bike. I was going to pack them, but I was so tight on weight and luggage allowance that I didn’t take the fenders. And at the time the forecast was sun every day and now it’s going to rain a little today and a little tomorrow, but should be okay. So, uh, yeah, it’s mainly been like this. Actually, this is the widest it’s been. A lot of it’s been really narrow, almost too narrow for two bikes to pass, but it’s mostly been this sort of crushed stone. Reminds me a lot of the Cal Haven Trail I did when I biked Chicago to Lancing. Same thing in the other direction. Parts of it have been paved, but mostly been like this. Pretty flat and pretty easy riding. Bike is over here. There’s been a lot of foot paths branching off like this one here, which is a really common thing in the UK. Really great. You can just sort of wander across fields a lot of times. And there’s been some sort of classic signage like this, of course, with the someone’s lost glove on there. So, here’s the bike. The bike’s been doing really well. I’ve actually been really enjoying this a lot. It’s been handling the uh terrain and the substrate extremely well. No problems at all. And most importantly, it’s also been very very comfortable. So, this bike replaced my Fairlight Ferrron, which was a little small for me. This thing’s a little bigger and I have a little bit more room on the bike and it’s just a lot more comfortable for me. So, I’ve really been enjoying that. The one by has been fine. The brakes have been great and I’ve had no mechanical issues or comfort issues actually. So, that’s been super awesome. And also, as I’ve been standing here, I’ve kind of been snacking on some unusual British treats. This is one of my favorites. I’d forgotten about these. These are Marmite flavored rice cakes. These things are delicious and also really healthy. The other thing I’ve got here is some salt and vinegar peanuts, which feels healthier than salt and vinegar chips, at least. And then I also had a banana. And I’ve got a couple more things in the dry bag, which I will pull out a little bit later. Yep. This has been a lot more typical. Pretty pretty narrow, but still a totally fine riding surface. It’s actually a really nice ride. I’m really enjoying this. All righty. So, I just passed through a little town called Southwater and the Downs Link, the trail I’m on. passed through a little housing estate, a little residential area with just some small little houses, quiet roads, and I had to cross a little street. I came up to the street, slowed down, looked left, looked right. There was a car coming, but it was pretty far away. So, I cross and this car is actually speeding. I didn’t realize how fast it was going and it speeds through this housing state and then it just lays on the horn after I’m almost across. I still cross way ahead before the car gets there. And it just really irked me. It wasn’t just a beep beep. It was a lay on the horn. And I don’t know why this person was speeding so fast. And I crossed before they got there anyway. So, really annoyed me. But, uh, yeah, just a small little town. There wasn’t a whole lot to see there. Now, it’s back to the same sort of sort of crushed stone that I’ve been on for most of this trip so far. So, yeah. Path kind of looks like this. But what’s really cool, as you can see, the sun has come out, which is really nice. snow or rain. I’m actually getting a little sweaty here, but really good cycling day. It’s actually pretty beautiful out. All righty, guys. So, I’m just coming up to a place that was signposted as the West Ginstead Old Railway Station, which is kind of cool. There’s this old train carriage sort of parked here. There’s remnants of a little track. And obviously what I’m cycling on is also a an old old railway grade. As I come up here, I’m seeing a little bit more old sort of infrastructure and stuff. Let’s see what kind of signs and stuff we have here. Downs link. The trains are gone, but who still travels along the line today? If you want some trivia, you can pause there. But there’s a lot of signage around. Actually, this whole thing has been pretty heavily signposted, but I want to go back here and look at this. Just kind of circling around. I came from down there. There’s actually people sitting by the trains, so I’m not going to disturb them. But there’s a sign. I don’t know if that’s original or if that’s been restored. West Greenstead. Pretty cool. I always like, you know, come and buy some old train infrastructure like this. So, as you might know or might have realized from the way my channel’s been going lately, I also love trains and old infrastructure is certainly part of that. So, I’m actually going to take a little break here because as I’ve been cycling along, I’ve been thinking about something. Actually, it’s mental health and I was going to throw it into this video, but I’m not. I’m going to make a separate video. So, if you’re interested in mental health type stuff, you should see a video coming out. Before I do that, let’s just kind of take a look here again. There’s that train I was talking about. But, let’s show you the bike again. The Stoouge Rambler. It’s really cool. It’s just pretty comfortable. I have noticed one thing here. My legs rub the top tubes here and here on almost every pedal stroke. It kind of squeaks. I’m actually worried about rubbing the paint away. Just something I noticed. I will probably reviewing this bike also today or tomorrow. So, you can look forward to that video as well. But the bike’s been doing awesome. It’s really a lot better than the fairlight for was, at least for my purposes. Oh, wow. Here’s the old platform. It’s kind of fenced off back there. It said that it’s an unsafe structure, but there’s still a bench over there. And the platform sign is actually over there as well. Actually, there’s one of those things that has a particular name, that kind of signal, and I talked about it in the Amtrak Southwest Chief video. I can’t remember what it’s called now, but the position of that little thing. Oh, a semaphore. And that’s what that’s called. If you want to know about that, look up semaphore. All righty, let’s keep going. [Applause] So, this is cool. Henfield repair cafe. Just cycle past. Saw it. Thought it was a DIY bike repair thing. Looks like it’s a repair anything thing. Busted bike, Toasta Toaster, Broken Bracelet, Blunt Blade, come to a pop-up cafe. It’s only the third Saturday of the month, 10 to noon. So, that’s uh you know, that’s awesome. Um but if you’re cycling along here, you’d have to come by at a very specific time. But really cool. So, yeah, in the town of Henfield, there’s not too much here, just a couple of houses. And um yeah, just sort of back on the crush stone, but we are getting pretty close to the sea at this point. All righty. I’m just rolling up to the beach in Shor by Sea and I think I’ve been here before or at least a place very similar to this. Yeah, this kind of rocky pebbly sort of vibe with the beach huts. Just looks so familiar. And then a lot of houses sort of just inland there. So, I just had a look at the bike computer there and I’ve done about 37 miles which is awesome. And now we’re along the sea here for a little while. I think my first order of business here is going to be to find water and also bathroom would be nice and then I’ll probably stop and have a coffee or something. You can kind of see here what the path looks like. This is also cycle route. I think it’s route number two. Earlier on I turned away from that route 22 pretty early on, but then I was pretty much following the railway grade for most of the way here. But this is like classic English beachside environment. Pebbles, beach huts, little coffee things. Actually, that’s a sauna. Wide water sauna. That’s kind of cool. And then off to the side, those houses, some of which are really nice. And lots of people out and about as well. And yeah, route was fine so far, but that was a flat part. And now we get up into the South Downs and it’s going to get hilly. But yeah, just along a railway grade, couple jogs here and there through some little villages. Just a very few on-road sections, but pretty easy. Pretty narrow spots. Kind of hard to pass people sometimes, but overall pretty easy cycle so far. And more little beach cuts. I love the colors of these. Really fun. Kind of pastely, and bright and summery. Really nice. Hey, just coming on to a uh specific bike path. Looks brand new. So, this might be just a short section. It might be a long section. I don’t know. It’s paved very nicely. Also, lots of little um bike parking stuff that I’ve been passing recently. So, pretty cool. It’s kind of getting set up pretty well for cycling, I’d say. Look what I just saw. Does it work? Does it work? Let’s find out. Maybe I’ll be thwarted like I was in Battle Creek, but no, there’s water dripping. Excellent. All righty. I just drank so much water. I feel kind of sick. And right down from the water, we have some public toilets. So, all my needs are being met here, except for the coffee need, but that should be easy. Well, I was so busy looking at this view, I went way too far towards the next town, which is called Worththing. So, I’m going to backtrack a little bit. I’m going to try and find a charging cable somewhere for my Wahoo cuz I forgot it in Michigan and I’m going to need that and it’s a micro USB. This is off topic, but I need a micro USB which is really annoying. Um, so I’m going to do that. Maybe get something to drink, get something to eat. And it’s really not that much further from here to where I’ll be spending the night. So, I’ve got actually a lot of time to kind of tour around and explore. But yeah, check this view out. It was sunny. It kind of got cloudy just now, but pretty nice. Interesting the way the beach is all pebbly. Bikes over there. And then that’s kind of where I came from. And Brighton, UK is probably the next bigger town you might have heard of in the that direction. But just tons and tons of seaside houses and a nice big road right next to the beach. That’s very very typical. This is a very typical seaside scene in the UK. But pretty nice ride. Pretty flat. Let’s uh go see if we can yeah take care of the stuff I want to take care of. I guess I just had an obnoxious experience. I’m in the town of Lancing. Funny story. When I live in England, this is where I came to actually do my driving test like 5 years ago. But I’ve been looking for a USB micro USB cable for my bike computer. It’s pretty old and I forgot it in Michigan. I was looking around in London yesterday. I saw one that was like £10. I was like, that’s too much. Uh just went to a grocery store here, Asda, which is British Walmart, had kind of a triple cable was like £15. I was like, no. Then I went across the street from where I’m here into the bookstore. So, they didn’t have one. And I think the place where I saw it for £10 was a pharmacy, but this one just has a pharmacy counter. So, there’s a little mobile phone repair shop over there. And I was like, I’ll ask that guy. And I asked the guy and he was like, yeah, this is this is pretty Oh, this is pretty obsolete. He looks at my computer. He’s like, I don’t know what you need. Oh. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I have one, but it’s going to cost you £15. I was like, yeah, right. Absolutely not. And he was like, okay, how much? I was like, I’ll give you £10. So, I paid £10. I know you buy them for 50 cents on eBay, but just obnoxious. But I needed it cuz I need it for the navigation. Now, I don’t have to worry about it tomorrow. All right, one more thing to do, and that’s to get fish and chips. And on the South Sounds overnighter website, they recommend Mr. Chip. And I just Googled. There’s a bunch of fish and chips places in this town. Pretty obvious we’re right by the sea. But Mr. Chips does have the best for Mr. fish, I think. I don’t know. It’s either Mr. Chip or Mr. Fish, and they have the best reviews. So, I’m going to go get some fish and chips down there. All right. Sorry about the noise, guys. There’s an exhaust fan going off. But end up going somewhere else cuz Mr. Chips was closed and looks really good, but they didn’t give me a napkin or a little fork. Luckily though, I have my light my fire titanium fork and I ended up getting a bottle of Coke cuz the European/B British Coke is way better and I kind of need the sugar and I’m also really thirsty. So, it’s going to be my unhealthy but fueling meal right here. All right, coming out of Lancing here and we’re starting to climb fairly significantly. Very long hill coming up. There definitely is a big climb here. I think there are two big climbs on uh on this route. I don’t know how much elevation change it is, but I think it’s pretty substantial. Nice little fairly long dinner though. Stopped for about an hour and a half. I think it’s almost 6 and it’s just kind of turning into golden hour. did regret the fish chips a little bit. It’s a lot of fat, but that’s okay. I’ll burn it off. You can see kind of how long this hill is. Take a look behind me there. I’m not going to turn around, but I just saw a sign there that said restricted byway. And we are still climbing. There you go. Restricted byway. Still climbing. This is pretty tough. I don’t know if you can see that, but I’ve ascended 420 m and descended 342. It was pretty flat down into Worththing. So, uh I may have gone up, you know, 80 m here. I know I can do it. I’ve climbed over the Alps in Switzerland, but uh I’m also out of shape pretty hard. Looks like we are turning to gravel here. It’s coming out of this car park or parking lot and uh getting onto this gravel track. All righty. It’s uh narrowed significantly here. And also I don’t want to stop, but I discovered that my wahoo tells me the upcoming elevation. And looks like we are almost on top of this ridge. And uh and it should be flat for a while. But I think according to the ride GPS, there is another hill down and back up. But I think that’s tomorrow. So all things considered, a long hill, but it’s not quite like climbing an owl or a mountain. All right, that is where I came from. I had to stop here because we’re getting sort of this classic south down sort of view. In particular, what we’re seeing is some exposed chalk. This is all a very chalky substrate or soil, I guess. And we’re heading that way. Looks like a lot of fields, a lot of forest. It’s kind of hard to tell because it’s pretty hazy, but I think it should start clearing up as the sun goes down. And I did try and understand this elevation thing. According to my GPS, we just climbed 100 m, which is what about 330 ft. But according to my GPS, we should have climbed more like 600 feet. So, I don’t know if I will still be climbing. There’s another, you know, maybe I’m going on top of that hill over there. Looks like the track continues. So maybe I am doing another double that hill, but it wasn’t too bad. It’s nothing like the Alps. Yeah, that one day in the Alps in Switzerland was like 7 hours of straight climbing and I know the road was like 43 km long and elevation of the pass was like over 2,000 m and I don’t think I quite climbed that much, but I climbed like well over a thousand. So that was that was similar sort of steepness just 7 hours not 20 minutes in the path is kind of this single double track sort of thing. Pretty popular. I’ve had a lot of bikes pass me. Seen a lot of hikers stuff like that. But pretty cool. All righty. Let’s go enjoy this. All righty. One more stop. I just got to show you this. Got the bike leaned up against the footpath sign. Worthing is over there. You can maybe see the sea. It’s about where my finger is. That’s water. And actually even out there there’s some wind turbons I can see and then we’re sort of on these chalky hills foot path over there and I came from this way. But I want to show you what this little bridalway thing looks like. This could be a really ancient path. You know I mean in England you know I was in Cornwall earlier this year and there was a Roman road marker by the side of the road from like 400 AD or something. kind of this sort of braided type thing. And looks like we are pretty much going, you know, around that bigger ridge. And that should be about the high point of this entire route. Actually, look at this. This has gotten so narrow now. I’m uh getting whipped by these grasses, which isn’t so bad, but there’s also spots with brambles that hit my leg. And there’s also quite a lot of stinging metal. So, it’s pretty interesting. I also met a huge group of people. I was going to let them pass. I was at sort of an intersection, but they waved me through and it was kind of hard. But yeah, I don’t know how long this goes on for, but those grasses over there are taller than my head. Actually, that’s I think there’s a ridge over there. Beautiful view, though. I think I can’t really look that way. Got to make sure I close the gate because I think this lifts in. We are chilling with some sheep. This is another one of those rides where every, you know, moment is even more beautiful than the last and you just want to keep stopping and filming. Of course, I can’t keep doing that, but uh this is great. I should stop talking and just listen to the nature. Also, I did kind of figure out I think this elevation thing. There’s the graph. Looks like we do gently keep going up to about 200 m, which should be about 600 ft. And that seems about right according to my GPS. So, I guess it’s one steep uphill and then this gentle stuff that just kind of got condensed and compressed when looking at the ride GPS file. All righty. So, I just crossed a pretty formidable road. It’s the A24, which you can see there behind me. Lots of fast traffic. And I came from the hills over on that side. After all that climbing, I did a lot more going through some beautiful countryside. And then there was a fairly significant descent and I felt really confident on the stoogge rambler. It did really well. Anyway, I’m just trying to reload the information website here because apparently there is a water spigot somewhere here, which would be really handy. If I don’t find it, it’s not the end of the world. But what I do need to find is either a bathroom or some woods and also a place to stay. Now, apparently up on this next ridge, there are some woods there that you can just sort of wild camp. So, my plan is to check that out, but I need to get cracking. It’s crunch time. It’s about 7:00. So, uh, let’s take care of some business. Hey, check it out. We have drinking water just a little bit away from that road. So, there’s a map. If you’re doing this, just look up South Down’s Way. Water taps. There are quite a few. Perfect. Going to fill myself up, fill my bottles up, and I should be good for the night. Then I’m going up another hill. Oh boy. Classic England. Look how long this hill is. You can see here how steep that driveway is. This might be the other steep way up. If it is, at least I’ll be up. So, uh, let’s get to it. All right, guys. So, I apparently totally blew past where it said there was some good camping. Actually, it was even before the water, which is kind of annoying because now I’m going through a lot of fields. I did find this place. This is called Kiturst Hill. This is a parking lot. Pretty empty. Not too many people. There are a couple cars at the start or at the beginning of this. There’s also a van parked over there and I’m pretty sure they’re going to spend the night. I might go talk to them. I was kind of thinking about this, but it is very exposed if someone comes in here. And I’m not so worried as much about whether it’s legal to stay here. I’m more worried about safety. So, not ideal. I’m not really sure where else to go, though. So, still kind of thinking on it. Okay, I think I found a spot. Not here, but you can actually sneak into these woods here. These woods do look very thick. But there is a little path. Clearly, people come in here. And it is kind of slanted, but the floor, or I guess the ground looks fairly clear. I think I can make this work. I’ll wait till a little later, closer to dark, to actually pitch the tent. But I’m kind of thinking somewhere a little further in there. Maybe maybe right here. Now, I’ve never wild camp before. And you know, normally I’d rather be out on a field or something, but you know, I think something like this is going to be fine. I don’t think there’s too many pointy things or just some vegetation here I can kind of clear. That’s pretty flat. All right, so I’ve kind of been exploring this little spot I found. It gets pretty steep there behind me and there’s fields all around. I kind of found the edge of it over there, but I did find a spot up here that I think I like a little better for camping. This one here, it looks also pretty flat, but there’s less of this taller plant. Um, that’s wood havens, I think. if I remember right. I guess that would crush down pretty well if I just put a tent on it. But maybe I’ll try and try this spot here. We’ll see. I’ll think about it. All righty, guys. So, I did end up choosing that spot that had less undergrowth. But I turned the tent 90° so that it is sort of I guess I guess that’s the head end. It should be the feet end, but head end facing down. I’m probably going to sleep the opposite way, but at least it’s pretty level side to side so I don’t roll around. And just went ahead and pitched it cuz no one’s here and I don’t think anyone’s going to come back here. It’s a Thursday night, I think. And this is a pretty fairly remote location despite the motorcycle sounds in the background. I also didn’t put the rainfly on. It’s really hot and I don’t think it’s going to rain. So, I think that’ll be fine. And I was going to do a review video on the bike, but it’s getting pretty late and I think I’ll do that tomorrow. I should have a full long day tomorrow. I end up doing almost 60 miles, so I am right around halfway there. And I didn’t start biking till around 11 today, but if I wake up early tomorrow, I should have more time. And also, it doesn’t really matter what time I get back to Guilford. So, I’ll have time to do a bike review video then. But, uh, just, you know, briefly, the the bike was awesome. I really enjoy this bike. And one thing I definitely noticed today is that I already said it was comfortable, but this fork actually flexes a little bit, which is really nice, and you do feel that. So, the front end is really comfortable. The back end is kind of stiff, but it works really well off-road, and it’s also very stable descending. Maybe a little sluggish in the turns going uphill, but that’s just a trade-off. I really like that bike. It works really well. Um, you know, maybe I’ll have to refine my packing system a little bit. Some of those anything cages were shifting around, but um, you know, it can carry a lot more weight than I had on it. So, really happy with the bike. And also, I did have a rope or little string with me. I left it in the hotel or the apartment actually. So, um, I just kind of put the food at least off the ground in a tree. I know that’s not ideal. You know, if some raccoon or something wanted it, it’d get it. But at least it’s not right on the ground. So, and then I have that my spork. I need to clean it. I for actually I have wet wipes. I’ll probably wet wipe that cuz that’s still kind of dirty from from the fish. Yeah. So, in the orase video I did yesterday, I was showing you that apartment that I booked as a hotel, but it’s an Airbnb in London. And um I did want to mention in case you watch that video, it’s a very nice place. Uh, but it was not expensive. I’m sure it’s expensive to live there, but it was like $100 a night, which for what it is is and for London is really cheap. And I’ve stayed in some really bad hotels in London for 100 bucks. So, um, you know, that was that was awesome. Really cool look with the light coming through the trees and also through the tent. Let me show you one more time kind of where I am. So, if you are doing this, Khurst Hill seems like a reasonably good spot for some wild camping. And again, like I said, I’ve never done this before. I I have, I guess, wild camped in Michigan, but that’s in places where it’s allowed. It’s technically not allowed here, but I always wanted to try. And uh this this spot does seem pretty reasonable to me. Not too many insects, not too much undergrowth, and not too many people either. But clearly people have been back here cuz there’s a little trail out here. We even have a little oak branch that kind of acts as a door. So I’ve got a door and then we come out into the South Downs landscape. What an absolutely gorgeous evening. It’s so nice. I do hear a tractor in the background. And I don’t know if you ever watched the YouTube channel Geo Wizard. He does these straight line missions across England. He’s always afraid of farmers. And I’ve got like the thought of the farmer in the background just from watching those. But I think I’m okay where I am. I don’t think this is part of any farm. Yeah. I also think the people that were parked here earlier are gone. Maybe the van is still there. I might go check that out. But really cool landscape. Apparently this is one of the highest points and I believe we are in West Sussex here. And then that’s where I’ll be going tomorrow. It has been this kind of double track for a lot of this last little bit or their I guess their little byways they call them. They’re like farm tracks. Nice view out over the countryside. And then this is where I came from. There are a lot of other foot paths and bridalways and all sorts of stuff through here. I think this is one right there. That line through the field. I think that’s one. There’s also one that goes that way. Just tons of opportunities for outdoor recreation. So that van is still there. They actually sort of moved back onto a little overlook. They’re gonna have a really nice view in the morning. So, uh, you know, I’m not the only one doing this. Um, which is pretty cool. I didn’t I’d end up not talking to them, but, uh, I don’t know, maybe I should have. I, you know, safety numbers. I definitely feel a lot more safe with them around. And I I really think no one’s going to come back there. This is a a pretty for around here. This is pretty remote. Kind of hard to get to. And even if you came here, you’d have to go into the woods to find me. So, it should be good for night. You know what? One more thing. I’ve been sitting out here and look at the sunset. That’s so pretty. And the other thing that’s really cool is I was kind of chilling on this log over here. And I don’t know if I showed this earlier, but clearly someone’s had fires here before. There’s a fire pit or remnants of a fire pit over there. I was just chilling here for like half an hour and a barn owl flew across here really close to me. It was really awesome. All right, so that is going to be the end of the video for real. So I hope you have a great rest of your day and maybe I’ll see you in the morning for the next one. Take care.

Great video!
Shame you encountered the speeding car in the residential area, unfortunately that's a problem in England and police do nothing about it.
Whats the name of the friction shifters? Because the huge casette 12spd plus 56 teeth(?) seems impressive. Hows the shifting?
Thanks for posting, this is my local patch. Always interesting to see a tourist's take on what we see every day. Looking forward to the rest of the trip!
Beautiful scenery. Looked like lots of fun.
