Friend of mine and I work at the same company got us the wilier Adlar via company bike.

So we had to test it out. I went for the inhouse bike packing kit.

Initial plan was to reach the north sea. Buddy suggested to follow the Weser cycling route. And if time and weather is with us, go for Cuxhaven and the follow the Elbe river to Hamburg. Train back.

Day 1 and 2 were exactly as planned. Mostly type 1 fun. High speeds good weather.

Starting day 3 things went from type 1 to type 2.

On/off rain and constant wind from north/north-west. We had to take a day off because it was raining constantly and we just rode 150km against against headwind.

Not as expected. 10/10 will do it again. My gear was good. Although I'm not happy with the Bikepacking kit. This is the 2nd time I used it (first was 150km total. This was 600 total) and there is already failure on the mounting mechanism (seam is ripping). I contacted the seller and manufacturer. Let's see.

  1. Forgot to mention, I went with back panniers only as an experiment. Steering was perfectly fine. I assume if there were any harder climbs, it would’ve been a bit more challenging balancing things.

How do you like the Adlar?! Mine got shipped to the States yesterday and is being assembled at a bike shop. I’m so stoked to try it out
