Cold this morning! 7°… hello friends, Sunday October 22, it’s 8:45 a.m. and we’re leaving for a nice little outing, direction the Tarn et Garonne, up to Montech to see something quite nice along the side canal of the Garonne. we will try as usual to take some beautiful images to take advantage of this beautiful day, the sun seems to be present throughout the route, well the temperature as you can see is quite cool… since we are around 7/8° gr so we dressed accordingly… and then well listen we’re going to try to spend a nice day cycling in nature!… come on!… to + [Music] and here is the basilica of Pibrac.. .magnificent building! on the left, it’s a dead end on the right!… yeah [Music] go to war like you go to war! oh we are still close to the end! technical break at the 28th km between Pibrac and Mondonville, the temperature slowly rises to 9.5°… in some places we were at 6° maximum! here it goes up slowly it should be a beautiful day!… we are in the town of Daux and we make a little plan of the center of the village… a magnificent church entrance… then we arrive in Granada on Garonne and we are going to discover the halls, the famous halls… one of the oldest in France… 1800m²… normally we must have a sign… explanatory… the [Music] here! so we really have a huge floor there !… we have just left Grisolles and we find ourselves on the side canal of the Garonne which goes in the direction of Agen, Bordeaux, so we are going to follow it for around twenty kilometers to Montèche, Montech, not many people there this Sunday morning, not much sun either while the weather had promised us [Music] a sun certainly slightly overcast but a sun all the same and obviously we were lied to again ! In short!… you have to lower your head!!! Well, we’re there, eh!… Are we there? there yeah the exit there is no barrier there so it’s true that on this part of the canal, the route is quite monotonous, certainly we go along the canal but it’s almost always straight ahead unlike the canal du midi which talk, leave, sorry from Toulouse to go to Sète where we follow the curves of the canal there in the opposite direction on this side, it’s a little more monotonous well it’s still nice there would have been a little of sunshine it would have been even better but there we have long straight lines over several tens of kilometers punctuated by a few locks and a few bridges under which we pass well the big advantage is that as you can see, zero traffic and zero people no, we’re here, there’s no one there, the canal is ours, it’s great!… the temperature is slowly increasing so that’s rather pleasant too and I see that there are some beautiful plane trees, I hope that these will resist the disease well it is not a plane tree but it did not resist the chainsaw I think it must have been an oak… do you hear the little birds?… go go go go!…. it’s still hot when we go under the bridges we don’t know what we’re going to find on the other side… so we are at the 70th km and we are at the Pont de la vache lock… the pont de la vache why how we don’t know anything about it so a few more kilometers [Music] yes and we arrive… yes of course how it swims! the bridge there Montech, no no, goes in front because I’m holding the camera but what’s the problem? that’s it, you just have to hold the handlebars with your left hand and the GoPro with your right hand and not wallow!… oh yes, that’s a turn! THANKS! it’s an old stationery apparently an old stationery !… [Music] then we arrive at the famous water slope…so there it is… it was restored not so long ago that That! two beautiful locomotives… the machine and its barge… the principle was quite simple it made it possible to replace the equivalent of 5 locks so a barge arrived, it was caught in the system there I don’t really know how and the two locomotives were responsible for going up this ramp to the top over there where we can see the footbridge to be able to continue their journey and thus avoid, saving the equivalent of 5 locks… so here we are in the Tarn and Garonne, in Montech… so here is the famous slope behind me, the barge, the two locomotives and so it went up to where Corine is up there towards the footbridge! and so here is the famous water slope seen from above, we can clearly see the difference in altitude which has to be overcome for the boats the barges so is this system currently working I would say yes well it must be said that navigation is a a bit at a standstill this period so we won’t see the system working but hey there you go…French engineering yes once again a world first ah or in Montech okay yes it’s really a nice curiosity so we we’re going to turn around, we’re going to try to find a little something to eat and go back home ok, let’s go!… one last shot, one last view and we continue on our way… [Music] we are in the town of Monbéqui, I hope I pronounce it correctly we have done 91 km and everything is fine except that we haven’t found anything to eat for the moment well we have a few energy bars to wait I’m afraid whoever we are going to have to do with good it doesn’t matter we are not making a superhuman effort today… come on!… a small asphalt path… we cross the commune of Dieupentale, with a road apparently blocked but which we take anyway we will see where it takes us… pretty house! we have kiwi culture as far as the eye can see! look at that!… we could eat it! oh those that are on the ground can we pick them up?… they may be inhabited… well we’ll try, we’ll see! it’s good eh!… it’s very sweet! yum yum…. what do you think, apple specialist? it’s good!… in the absence of a little sandwich… in the absence of a sandwich! oh, we have them everywhere everywhere everywhere [Music] everywhere yes, it’s 2:48 p.m., we’re at the 110th km and we just stopped in front of this pizza kiosk which we hope is working, so we’re going to watch that all from [Applause] [Music] continued…. wait but I might put it on the floor because it’s hot, put it there no oh that’s mine, no no that’s mine , yours is in the process of being super hot, it is being prepared and well… if someone had told me this morning when I was leaving that I was going to eat a pizza in the Intermarché parking lot de Grisolles… he’s right, sir, it’s going to be heavy to climb the slopes!… but he doesn’t have too much slope, be careful there!…. she doesn’t like My queen, my queen… not at all well not at all you took it what’s yours you kebab go attack!… good pizza operation finished! Rather a good surprise, this mobile pizza was a bit too difficult for us, in fact if we had known we would have only taken one for two but hey it doesn’t matter, we still have left, how many more do we still have left? … 45 kilometers so we needed [Music] to eat, let’s go!… let’s tackle the difficulty the only difficulty of today, the Lévignac hill, not very long but quite steep … very pretty castle, very pretty Brax castle the sweet sound of the countryside!… [Music] yeah good friends this is how this outing ends today, we have done 151/152 km here we go towards the Tarn et Garonne, a nice outing, some cool things we passed by obviously the water slope, very nice, the weather was pretty good even if the sun had been announced to us as a little brighter, well the wind rose at the beginning of the afternoon we got it on the side there it’s 5:20 p.m., we’ll still arrive in a quarter of an hour…
