Was just watching a video on YouTube, I have seen some of it on tiktok a while ago.
Venice skatepark, pretty toxic even if you go to the plaza and ride your bmx. I haven’t been there in a while but I’m amazed at how they accept and welcome scooter riders very quickly compared to how I and several other people I know have been treated by the same skaters there.

“This is skatepark not a bike park!” “Did you see the signs!?”

Has anyone had similar experience with this?

  1. Parks are like that everywhere. I’ve been skating and riding BMX since the 90’s. A lot of the time you gotta put your hands up and scrap or find a new spot.

  2. It’s all so stupid already, ride what you ride and don’t be a dick about it. I remember dealing with this shit back in the day when they didn’t want bikes in the skatepark cause of whatever danger or damage bikes could make. Thing is, skateboards have their own niche in which they’re dangerous too. No brakes, and if someone slips out or bails the wrong way, the board can literally launch off of a quarter pipe and into the air and land on someone’s head, that ain’t happening with a bike, or at least the chances are wayyyyyy lower.

Anyways, I’m just saying it’s all so stupid, sorry you gotta deal with that shit OP.

  3. **Skatepark Gatekeepers™** are either psychiatric cases or they’re still butthurt their mom/dad wouldn’t buy them that cool Huffy.
