Hi! I’m a bit naive and trying to figure out my clip in pedals for my road bike that I just got. Recently purchased road biking shoes with a three bolt cleat and I’m pretty sure I have the right pedals. I swear I’m almost able to clip in but it just seems so difficult to actually do so. I also tried to adjust the spring tension but didn’t have any luck after loosening it. Any tips or thoughts?? Also noticed after a quick ride that the clip is a bit rough so maybe that’s part of it (4th pic)

Wrong cleats on your shoes. Those are LOOK-style cleats, you need Shimano SPD-SL.

Shimano SPD-SL cleats needed. There are 3 ‘float’ options. The cleats with red contact points have no float. The blue have 4° float (I use these), the yellow have 15°.

  3. You have a Shimano pedal for SPD-sl cleats but you’ve installed look cleats
