Hello and welcome to highlights of stage five of the Jeralia Women 2025. This was our start location this morning in Morirano ahead of 120 km test for the riders stage that was given one star by the organizers in the road book today. Plenty of young fans out to see the riders signing on. More smiles from Marlon Royce sitting the pink overall leaders jersey with all those pink accessories as well. Thumbs up as the race was ready to get underway. This was the route that we had today beginning in Morirano. An entirely pan flat safe just going past the outskirts of Venice. One intermediate sprint. No categorized climbs at all on today’s course. We then did have a finishing circuit though. Two laps of that finishing circuit with a tiny little kick in that climb to the finish in Monseliche. Expected to be a day for the sprinters with 65k to go. We did have a breakaway of five riders. We had Bolato, Lucon, Zoni, Browser, and Rabusa for the five riders in this group with more than 2 and a half minutes on the Pelaton headed up by SD Works Pro time and Elena Chaini, the rider doing the work on the front controlling things because they of course had the big favorite in the rain of Jagante was looking good in that blue queen of the mountains jersey, but a big crash in the Pelaton showed that it was tense out there today despite the flat parkour. Number of riders being held up riders on the ground taking some assistance there from the doctors. Back at the front of the pelaton SD works pro continue to control things. We did see lot of Capeki world road race champion up towards the front as well. So our breakaway continued to work well together but the time was coming tumbling down but UAE AD got to the front at 52.7K to go. There was a small amount of crosswind and they ripped the race to shreds. A very small group formed at the front. The pelaton was split in half and crucially a couple of the big names in the general classification were not in that front group. Martin Royster was there the pink jersey wearer as was second place on GC. Alisa Longo Bulborini. One teammate for Martin Royster in the Olympic back in the pen. Maria Bonito of Asian Insurance Sudal was trying to salvage things for Sarah Jagante who was the wrong side of that split. Franciscoca Browster was the last rider to be caught in that breakaway. We had Mariana Boss and Lorena Vivas in our very select front group. As we looked back to the Pelon, we saw Jagante, Nemiah, and Henderson. So, three of our jersey wearers not able to make this select front group. WAE team pushed on at the front as did SC works crew time with Annab set to gain time as well. Eyes on Mariana Boss closely marked by Lena Viva. Lena Viva sticking to her wheel like glue for most of today’s stage. The gaps continue to go out into the final few kilometers and more than a minute and a half as we approach the Flam Rouge. A slightly technical run in in the final kilometer with two 90° bends, but it was a formless leader by SD Works Pro. Barbara Garishi, the rider on the front here, followed by loti, world road race champion. And they delivered Lorena Vivas inside that final 200 meters. An absolute perfection from the European road race champion. She sprinted clear of Mariana Boss and absolutely no doubt that she would take career win number 107. Just 26 years old. Lorena Vivas, her second stage winner this year. Jiro, she’s having a fantastic 2025. Celebrations there with lot of Pekky sprint for the line was won by Irish champion Mia Griffin of Roland. So they were more than 1 minute and 40 seconds down on our front group and it was time to do some maths for the general classification. Mariana Vosch just about to able to hold the back wheel of Lena Vivas but not able to get on terms with the European champion. Confirmation of the stage results. Lena Vibas took the win from Mariana Vosana Lippet took third place on the line from Lapeki. Mana Royster and Amisa Long Borgghini safely in that group as was Anna Vanderbre. Celebrations for Lena Vivas. winner of stage five which will now put her in the red jersey as well. Overall standings Royce lead from Longo Borgghini. Anna Vanderen climbs the standings as does Katherine Aler of Uno Xmobility because she was in that front group. Sarah Jaganti and Antony Nidima crucially not there. Royce that leads the overall as we go into our final three days of racing at the Jurro Italia women. And this is what awaits the riders tomorrow. We’ve got 145 km stage with more than 2,400 m of climbing. Three categorized climbs, a second category climb, and two third category climbs. But as you can see, it is up and down all day. Barely any flat meters in the parkour tomorrow. Could it be one for the breakaway? Could it be one for the GC riders? Certainly going to be a tough day out on the bike tomorrow.

Meh. Calling this the "Giro" is just bullshit marketing. And calling this a "pro" race is just retarded. I've seen local amateur crit races that were far more challenging and 10x more exciting. Stop trying to force women's pro racing down our throats. And stop calling these dramatically reduced "women's versions" of incredibly difficult and storied bike races the Giro or the Vuelta or the Tour de France. They are COMPLETELY different races… with only about 40% of them mileage and 40% of the elevation gains. If women want to race–that's great–more power to them. Let them create their OWN events–with their OWN names… and start their OWN traditions… if they CAN.
Why don't you show the athletes who came second and third?
Oooh, tomorrow's stage looks tasty. Finally some hills.
Wibes is an absolute powerhouse, tremendous 👏👏👏
Sad, that the highlights are not longer. The women deserve that too.
Reusser later received a yellow card, a 750 CHF fine and lost 30 UCI points for "intimidation".
Women racing bicycles?? What if they damage their lady parts and can't have children?
