I am a total beginner and wondering if the TREK Marlin 7 Gen 3's aggressive riding position with 2.4 inches wide tires suitable for bike touring? Are 2.4 inches the new standard? Won't thinner tires like maybe the 2.20 inches wide have less rolling resistance? Also, the earlier Gen 2's geometry was more upright. Considering that, should I go with the Gen 3 or skip it?
I am not really comfortable with drop bars as a newbie and would much prefer a front suspension. Please help me out!

How is it for bottle mounts, fenders/rack (or bags)? Can you service all components on the side of the road? What kind of touring do you want to do?
It is not a touring bike and will have limited options for mounting racks. There are plenty of flat bar touring bikes. Surly Bridge Club for example. Or Surly Krampus for more aggressive MTB geo.
