I am in mourning.
I got this Cannondale R1000 in 2007. It's been my favorite ride for 17 years. I was hit by a Camaro on July 1, 2024. Broke 17 bones and was in the hospital for 18 days. Got the gumption up to take it to my LBS yesterday: Totaled.
I noticed in the pics that I was wearing the same jersey in the oldest pic as I was when I got hit. I guess the EMT's cut it off. That feels emblematic. Put the pics in something close to chronological order.
I know, it's just a bike. But its not.
