yon G loves trains here i’m off to do another one of me circular routes today this time linking Birmingham with Worcester and Oxford and of course hopefully I will be back standing right in this very spot a bit later on i am looking forward to this one i’m going to be visiting some places I’ve never been to before and I’m also excited to have a ride along the Cotswwells line right let’s go crack on with it [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] ah well that’s a brilliant start the 0850 Herford service has been cancelled [Music] after some quick thinking because I didn’t want to spend an hour at New Street and I do want to leave from New Street I’ve decided I’m going to do the circular route in the other direction so I’ve just come down to platform one i’m going to be catching the 0903 cross country service the train is really loud but it has just pulled in and um I think yeah it’s a nine coach service this one right let’s go get to Oxford so yeah I am now going to Oxford first instead it’s going to take an hour and 30 minutes to get there and yeah I am glad this is a nine coach service it’s not too busy on this Voyager [Music] [Music] arriving into Oxford if you’re leaving us here please remember to take your gloves with you and find the gap in the train and platform ed i’m at Oxford now the train did arrive in about 15 minutes delayed but it’ll be re I have given myself enough time to spend here i did just uh have to replan all the train times for today but yeah this is my first time actually here in Oxford and I’m going to go head on out the station and how I’m doing a circular route with the trains today i’m going to do a circular walk around Oxford oh it’s a busy station that one right there’s a map here so I’m here going to head to the castle mill stream up to the rivers and then back around somewhere or another to the station [Music] got St george’s Tower of Oxford Castle there [Music] and this is where the stream meets with the river temps oh it’s very pretty and it is a lot quieter here than it was back at the station honestly that was quite a busy station that not sure what I was expecting exactly but yeah going to have a little riverside walk now and I do have a feeling that this riverside walk is going to take a lot less time than I thought it would i might slow down a bit taking in the flowing water some more that bridge ahead there is Folly Bridge it’s a stone bridge that opened back in 1827 and uh this is where I’m going to be getting myself off of the river now and just like that I’m back at the station i am going to be riding with GWR next along the Cotswwells line and this is a line I have been wanting to take a ride along for quite some time now so yeah can’t wait for this i’ve got about 50 minutes on this class 802 IET now [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] i’m now here at EAM it’s a pretty looking GWR2 platform station and the reason I’m here is because I wanted to make a stop off somewhere on the way to Worcester and when I was looking on maps I saw that there was some flowing water here at EAM so I was like I’ll go there i’ve just made me way to Abby Park the river Avon flows through here and I have got an hour now until me next train so I think I’m just going to spend it sitting here by the river i’ve just noticed these signs this so this one says shops trains buses taxis and then that one up there says out of puff yet you will be funny that well after climbing up that little hill I’m not completely out of puff but the time is flying by i’ve got to get back to the station already i’m leaving Evershoom now and I’ve got 20 minutes on this next train to Worcester Shrub Hill i’ve got to make sure I get off at the right Worcester station and this train is actually one that goes to Heraford there’s only four trains a day or three trains a day on Saturdays and it is a Saturday today that run from London Paddington all the way through to Heraford i would actually love to ride one of these services in full at some point [Music] [Applause] [Music] i have been enjoying looking at all the greenery out of the windows along the Cotswwell’s line but I’m now here at Worcester Shrub Hill it’s a West Midlands railway only station and it’s got three platforms now I’m not actually going to be catching a train from Shrub Hill i am now going to be walking to the next station along which is Worcester Forgate Street but I’m not going directly to the station i’m going to take a longer walking route around to it via the Worcester and Birmingham Canal and the River 7 blime me it’s dangerous crossing the road though with there being no pavement on that side so yeah I am basically just following the canal all the way down now to where it meets with the river so I have been traveling on an allline rover for four days now this is the fourth day of me traveling on it and because I’ve been setting alarms for half four in the morning and not getting back until really late at night it seems like my feet have sort of morphed with my shoes slightly cuz this morning honestly I could barely walk and as soon as I put me shoes on I could walk properly again i’m going to have to uh let me feet recover after this week’s over [Music] hey look lock number one this is the start at the Birmingham and Worcester Canal the Worcester the Worcester and Birmingham Canal even and here is where it meets with the River 7 [Music] this has got to be the prettiest part of Worcester well my Riverside walk is nearly over i am going to be turning off here at Worcester Bridge and headed for Forgate Street 15 right I’m up on platform 2 waiting for me final train this is going to take me back to Birmingham New Street it is the 1524 West Midler’s Railway Service looks like it might be a bit of a busier service this one there’s quite a few people here on the platform next station [Music] it is a lovely class 196 that’s taking me to New Street i’ve got 45 minutes on here now and um to be honest I thought it was going to be a bit busier on this train but yeah really quiet at the moment it rocked up completely empty d [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] and I’m back at New Street the train pulled in a couple of minutes early and yeah that was the quietest train I’ve been on all day [Music] and here I am back in the very spot where I started my filming this morning and being stood here right now it doesn’t feel like 2 minutes since I was here this morning but yeah obviously I ended up going the other way around the circle to what I’d initially planned it did work out well doing it that way though and I saw quite a bit of flowing water today you know me and me flowing water i absolutely love the stuff and I am ending now with some falling water it has started to rain thank you very much for watching everyone buzzy B

Another great vlog thanks for sharing 😊
When life, or a cancelled train, throws a spanner in the points, you take the Circular Route the other way! Nice to see plenty of Flowing Water™! (Yes, it's definitely become a G video trademark!)
A 9 coach cross country!!!! Normally between Birmingham and Oxford its standing all the way in a 4 coach train. My prefered route these days is via Worcester. There are two routes between Birmingham and Worcester but I live on the line from the other platform at Foregate Street.
Lovely line, the Cotswold Line.
Bizarrely, it's cheaper for me to get a return to Worcester from my local station, The Hawthorns, to Worcester, then buy a separate Worcester-Oxford ticket, than it is to buy a Cross Country walk on BNS-Oxford return.
Nearly did the Cotswold line last week but I decided to buy a Chiltern only return to Banbury instead, where a GWR priced return onwards to Oxford still works out cheaper than Cross Country! In the event, I didn't need to buy the Oxford ticket as I began riding buses from Banbury!
Cool vid, thanks for sharing.
Evesham! I'm from there 😂
Great vlog G. I’ve been to Oxford Station a few times now but not actually explored the city centre. The Cotswolds Line is stunning I’ve actually visited every station on it now well I say that I did put my foot on the platform and hop back on again at 4 of them because of dodgy 2tpd situation. Worcester is ok I have been there quite a lot too.
I've got visions of your feet looking like Hobbit feet now. 😂
Another excellent wee travelogue pet, huge thanks
What an interesting journey. Thanks G
Great video G.
Hope you are enjoying your All Line Rover.
We know the feeling of aching feet especially when it comes to chasing trains.
Have you visited South East England like Margate,Eastbourne, Brighton Ashford.
It's really nice down there, and plenty of running water too😊
It was very interesting to watch you.
Fantastic Video. Well Done.
Thanks G!
Snotty-Tastic video as always ❤
Another great blog and very nostalgic for me as I grew up in that area. Thanks so much for everything you do. You cheer me up every week!
Soooo……missed Oxford then?😂
You sure found some beautiful sights and landmarks on this one G. And you got a seat on a CrossCountry Voyager too! Congratulations 🎊 🎈 🎇
What a coincidence, just rode on the Cotswolds line between Worcester and Reading going to my cousin's wedding in Whitchurch, Hampshire near Basingstoke.
I live near Cradley Heath, but have figured out if I buy a single to/from Worcester then a return from Worcester it's cheaper than CrossCountry from Birmingham, and also – so far anyway – less risk of it being horribly overcrowded.
Also started travelling via Worcester to visit my mum in Somerset after discovering there's a direct GWR Worcester – Bristol Temple Meads service.
Did you just buy an Off Peak return from Birmingham to Oxford to cover this trip then?
Edit: Oh an All Line Rover.
Fun video G – random question given visiting here the other side of University boat race…have you ever visited Cambridge for a video? It's where I grew up and I m reckoning you'd be all over a river punting trip there!
Love your content. Thanks G!
Hello beautiful YouTube your video are incredible I love watching your incredible channel on YouTube
Cracking video G, quite a few areas I've not visited recently, cheers
Wait no knickers on your head??
Quite surreal to see your usual commute to work along the Worcester and Birmingham Canal and the River Severn on video! Aside from the Cross Country, some very familiar journeys!
Oj, I've done this before similarly to yours 😂 back in March this year. But I took WMR from Solihull to Worcester Forgate Street, from there with GWR+ to Oxford and then back with CrossCountry+, finishing at Birmingham International 😅
+ mean been in First Class.
Grantham- Newark- Peterborough in as long as possible using as many TOCs as possible
Lovely trip, circular train rides, plus lots of flowing water to walk beside. Thanks so much, you've inspired a couple of walks for me. And I've subscribed…

Worcester? That’s what she said!
Great video – nice to see you back on my GWR network again! Mark
Was this at the weekend? If not the main station in the UK's second city was very quiet for the middle of the morning rush hour
Hey @GLovesTrains just watched your Manors video was that the Thursday or Friday before the playoff final I think I was on the Northern train. Fancy a collab??
Another fix of positive smiling happiness in a country that seems to be full of really grumpy people!
