Just trying to get a decent bike to tool around town on long-ish rides and convince myself I like road riding enough to upgrade to a $2000+ bike in a couple years. The white one is a 2015 and the blue is 2019.

Absolutely the 2019. Even though the frame has mechanical disc brakes – swapping to hydraulics is a straight forward upgrade if you get into the sport. Much more future proof
