It looks like it is in excellent condition, however, unless you are very familiar with old bikes and bike repair you may want to let this one go. The bike has cotter pin cranks and numerous unusual threadings and parts sizes that mean that upkeep would be challenging for anyone without the right tools.

It’s an interesting bike. The frame construction seems fairly basic, but it has a lot of the fittings of a more advanced model. I think it probably is worth in the neighborhood of the asking price (get it for less if possible), but only if you are planning on refurbishing it yourself and have most or all of the tools you will need. If you need to pay someone to do the work you will be spending a lot of money on this.
It’s very charming and has a lot of style, which is what would attract me to it.

French bikes are cool because they are French and we are (I assume) in America. It’s a common type of bike, and, unless it’s high end tubing, which there are no indications that it is, it’s a basic French bike. At $300 for a bike that’s all there, it’s ok. It will bring a smile to a lot of faces. It will, as stated, have French threaded bottom bracket, headset, pedals, freewheel. You can still find parts on ebay, but it’s getting harder. Some of the parts go for a lot of money, the old canti brakes, the fenders, the saddle for instance.
