will you search through the lonely earth for me Climb through the brier and bramble I’ll be morning Sun’s out T-shirt on for the first time this year Um today I thought I’d start out with a little journey here Um it’s the blacksmiths in Heton It’s probably one of the oldest buildings in Heton and uh few years ago now it was taken down brick by brick and uh rebuilt with um a lottery funding to be honest It should be in Beamish really Um used to have like war days but I don’t think it’s been a working blacksmith for a few year now but nevertheless it’s still here It still exists [Music] Yeah So as I say the sun’s out today Shirt sleeves on Um today we’re going to have a slow ride to Durham Media Um we’re going to extend the run a bit If I was to just follow the road into Durham it would take about 6 mile which is uh be over and done within a flash So um we’re going to go down the Hen Pittton line and then um down Leamside through Great Lumbly uh down to Chestery Street and past the the Riverside Stadium and um go up past Sacristen uh Pity Me That’s a place I’m not looking for sympathy And then uh down Brassside Franklin Prison and into Durham Um probably pop them and see the cathedral and the castle and that So um let’s get on with it is waiting for you [Music] [Applause] [Music] Hold back the night from [Music] Cherish the light for us Don’t let the shadows hold back the dawn [Music] Cold city lights glowing The traffic of life is flowing Out over the rivers and on to dark I’m going downtown where there’s music I’m going where voices fill the air Maybe there’s someone waiting for me with a smile and a flower in her head Going down where there’s people [Music] Loneliness hangs in the air with no one there real waiting for me No smile no flower no word [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] Cold city lights glowing The traffic of life is flowing out over the rivers and on into dark [Music] Hold back the night from us Cherish the light for us Don’t let the shadows hold by the dawn I’m going downtown where there’s music I’m going We’re nearly a term now Um last time I was down this way it was so foggy you could barely see your hand in front of your face like and as I said at the time this stretch in the Durham is it’s beautiful like the corns in the field and uh Durham Cathedral it just rises out the hillside it’s absolutely stunning like so we’ll get on with it and we’ll head up towards the cathedral and uh have a look at the castle [Music] with no real waiting for me no smile I no flower no [Music] [Applause] [Music] heat [Music] Hold back the night [Music] You said someone should only hold what fits their hand what fills their clothes So we end up loving all that day But the clock it chimes a different scene Your future when you’re not with me And we end up loving on that day You said the sweetest sweetest word You said the sweetest sweetest words Back in time in a different room We danced all night to a different tune Till we end up loving all that day But now the band is going home The horns don’t blow and the drums don’t roll but we land up loving on that day You said the sweetest sweetest words You said the sweetest sweetest words Young enough to take the next string Old enough to take it home [Music] So made it down to Durham Cathedral um had a look at the the door knocker there and it always reminds me when night blue be because in the 80s it was replaced and the one you see on the door now is um it’s just a copy really and then the original ones inside it was said like once if you um held the knocker back in the day back in the medieval times you would have a sanctuary now you need a suggested uh donation to get through the door but uh no it’s it’s a great place to visit to be honest with you so if If you’re down this beer get yourself in Plus they’ve got um a cafe down the bottom main if if you’re hungry or something like that So get yourselves down [Music] Sweet sweet [Music] The light is fading fast from this old time We got to go Our bags are packed So what we waiting for [Music] Escape this time with me We could in a room and watch the stars dance around the moon Fall asleep to the sounds of the sea with you right by my side is such a sweet Well that was our ride to Durham I think we’ll finish it again H it’s been a cracking day like the sun sun’s been out Been lovely and warm Not too warm though I’m short sleeves on top of here But it’s been great You know you’ve had a really shitty week I work in that Just coming out and uh having a 20 mile bike ride on a Sunday It just clears your mind on that Uh so yeah if you like the videos like and subscribe and I’ll see you in the next one [Music]
