Brand-new Cannondale with claris for $630 is a fantastic deal. I don’t see cannondale’s on sale very often. That’s also Cannondale’s smartform alloy on that frame. It’s their more premium alloy they offer, lighter, more precise wall thickness, just overall more engineering, lighter, more cleaner welds.

One caveat. If you plan on running max 28mm tires, this would be perfect for most roads on the DRY tarmac. I emphasize dry because if you want more braking power and wider tire clearance, disc brakes are the way to go. But as a first cheap and cost effective brand-new bike, this is perfect for the price. If you bought it used, it would already be like $500 used and you won’t have the relationship with the shop. It’ll probably come with a one year free tune-up or something too.

  2. Seems decent. I paid £950 for a optimo 1 (105 version of this bike) about a year back from Evans bikes in the uk.
